Since I started writing on Vocal.media it has been exciting for me, I have experienced joy and frustration of having ideas to write on medium.

Sometimes I would have ideas spontaneously come to my mind and I would rush to write them down.

At other times during my research on a particular topic, ideas suddenly burst in my mind and I would add those ideas to my research.

Although it has been fun, not all moments are sunny. These are times when I run out of ideas for medium writing and no matter how much I try, I just can’t think of anything good to add to my topic.

If you are reading this then you probably have been facing the same problem but no need to feel bad as every writer or blogger faces this problem every once in a while.

But over time, I have come up with practices that have been working for me, and I am willing to share those practical solutions with you.

I urge that you put these tips practically to your work and I guarantee that they will also help you and save you from the frustration of not having any more ideas to write or add to your work.

Here are the 10 tips to always having ideas for Vocal.media writing.

1. Meditate

To meditate simply means to stay focused for a period of time by relaxing. And this process helps a person to clear his/her mind

It's always good to meditate, most especially when you have reached the stage of burnout or creative blocks. Clear your mind but make sure you are free from any form of distraction or disturbance or simply take a walk if it helps. Once your mind is cleared you might brainstorm or begin to think of new ideas. My advice is whenever You’ve reached creative blocks, leave what you are doing and meditate.

One of the benefits of meditation is that it increases imagination and creativity. Meditation is a very strong tool for generating new ideas thus enables you to think in a clear state of mind.

2. Write about an experience

We all have some experience on personal or professional events that we can tell stories of. Tell those stories to your readers and share what you’ve learned from those experiences and how they now affect your life.

Since these are your personal experience you don’t have to make intense research, just tell your readers the truth and don’t be shy to share your opinions or how you view things, we all have experienced something that might have changed our lives or the way we think, so don’t remove the necessary details while telling your story because you might make a connection with your readers that have a similar experience with yours and this builds a strong relationship between you and your readers.

3. Use the media and Social media

Social media is also another place to get ideas from. You can use social media as a tool for getting ideas rather than just chatting and scrolling through posts.

A lot of people use social media to express their feelings or thoughts about a particular topic, give your perspective on that topic and then write to your readers stating your reasons for having your own perspectives.

You can also say your opinion on a trending post you’ve seen, write down your views, whereas you can make a respectful argument out of a trend to bring more engagement to your post/publish.

The media, especially news channels or news platforms are other interesting places to get ideas from.

You can make a reaction article about the news, express what you feel or what you have learned from the news, do feel free to state all your opinions about political, social,

sports or celebrity news.

4. Write how-to guides

You are definitely good at your own field of skill or profession. write guides on how to achieve something regarding your field. write step by step process and illustrations on how to do something even if it is a little bit different from other processes or a better way of doing something.

And in some cases, you don’t even have to write guides particularly about your field, it could be something else, something you think someone might need to know. Maybe you have been struggling with an issue and later got a solution, you should share those solutions with your readers.

5. Write life lessons to inspire

People generally like to read stories and people love stories they can relate to. Be it true or fictional story people just want a good story and when you feel like you need to share some advice with your readers, you can start with a story of something you’ve witnessed, heard or experienced even if it’s not a true story as long as you can draw life lessons from them you should tell it and let your readers know the purpose of the story you’ve written. Be clear to your readers that you write the story so they could learn something from it and then also point out the lessons you expect your readers to learn from.

6. Address an issue

If you feel strongly about something, it’s very likely others also do, so why not share your thoughts about issues you feel the need to be addressed, you can give your suggestion on how to solve those issues. Write about how things could be done differently or better in order to solve those issues. Write in a manner that will inspire your readers to take action

7. Writes useful tips

Perhaps you are an expert at something or things, but probably haven’t shared with a wider audience what you know. Provide your readers with a useful list of tips on how to do something better concerning your expertise, depending on the years of experience and knowledge you have acquired, demonstrate a better understanding of the topic to you readers

8. write about your job or hobbies

This is the time you get to inspire or entertain. when you write about your work you inspire and when you write about your hobbies you entertain.

Writing about your job or hobby is definitely the easiest way to be idealistic because when you write about your job it’s like you are telling a story of the experiences you have at work or in your job and the fun you have at your leisure activities.

To make your job story more entertaining, write about what you face due to your location for example "what it's like to be a 3d artist in Nigeria'' write about the challenges you face in your field, your first day at work, how you got employed or what your workspace is like. Write about your relationship between your boss and colleagues. be expressive of how you feel whenever things go the way you want or even when things go wrong to show your readers that you can also be vulnerable as this builds a sense of relationship between you and your readers.

writing about your hobby is the moment you get to entertain your readers, write to your readers about the activities you like doing for fun at your leisure time and why you like doing those activities. you might share similar hobbies with some of your readers, so please keep your article real and fun to read.

9. write your routine

Writing about your daily routine can be very helpful to people as they would like to know the things you do that help you do something better.

When you write your routine, tell your readers how it helps you and why it works for you. let your readers know that it’s your routine, as though what works for you might not be what works for another, however it shouldn’t stop them from trying to practice it.

10. read other articles

Reading other people’s articles is a resourceful way of getting ideas but it's not stealing.

You could read an article of a topic you know and think it’s not written well, try to make your own version of the topic and describe more on the topic by giving detailed information.and by reading other articles you could have an idea on what to add to what you’ve read.

Writing this article was exciting for me but also exhausting and I hope it helps you with some ideas for your next article or whenever you’ve run into writer’s block.

To Be honest, the best way to get ideas is to pick a topic under your interest, write about it then publish.

Thanks for spending your time reading my article.
