Think About It

Life throws curve balls every now and then. Things that were once simple for us become complicated. Some of the friends we thought we had, turn their backs on us. Marriages break up. Relationships don’t work out. You name it, it happens. But you have 2 options: Pick up the broken pieces and re-build your life or keep your behind on your shoulders. Me personally, I pick up the broken pieces because I refuse to be defeated.

Life is meant to live; not dig a hole and lay in it. When we think that our lives are so bad, there is always someone that is way worse than us. We need to think about that. Vision, hearing, walking, talking, are all blessings. The Lord gives us all these things. There are some people that were either born without these or lose them at some point in their lives.

I don’t have a terminal illness, but I feel compassion for the people who do. Modern technology has come a long way since the beginning of time. People are surviving cancer, receiving lung transplants, kidneys, bone marrow, so on and so forth. These people fight battles that none of us know about, and some fight these battles in silence and others choose to share their battles. Whether they survive their battle or not, they never gave up.

Some people have the “there is no light at the end of the tunnel” feeling. If that’s the case, then how are you still waking up every day? No, every day isn’t sunshine and roses, things don’t get better overnight, but in due time, things do get better. We have the habit of a right now solution. No such thing. If there was a right now solution, a lot of us would be rich because we would win the lottery “right now.” Praying is your best bet.

Depression is nobody’s friend. It does hit and when it does, it hits hard. It’s hard to smile when your heart is breaking in a million pieces. People have to laugh to keep from crying as the saying goes. You can either live life or watch it go by. The choice is yours. You can hit rock bottom and come back stronger. I did.

We all complain about something. Its in our nature. Our job, our family, our children, tv shows (side joke), we complain. Life issues are something to complain about because some things you have no control over. We can’t control everything that happens in our lives but for the stuff we can control, we need to.

Watch out now. My mouth has no filter. Everybody knows their character. I won’t say you can control what comes out of your mouth because we don’t think before we speak. We speak before we think. Words form in our mind the second someone says something to us; whether we cuss them out or not is our choice. That’s why I said we speak before we think. That may have gone over a few peoples’ heads. Maybe not.

Having your behind on your shoulders never changes anything. It’s time out for that. Life is too short. Whatever your problem is, you need to face it, head on. I can’t stand these people that know that they have a problem that has a solution, yet they don’t want to face the solution. Too afraid of what might happen. As long as you walk around with a situation in your life, if you have a solution to and you are able to solve it, solve it and stop walking around with your head down like it’s the end of the world.

2 choices in life: Let your situations defeat you (throw in the towel) or fight back (refuse to give up). Life is like baseball: It throws curve balls, but there is no 3-strikes, you’re out.
