The Little Black Book

Three young eighteen-year-olds were about to graduate in three days. The three students decided to host a party. They all drove to the party to get decorations, then to the grocery store to get some snacks. Annie a short dark-haired girl went to get chips, Lane a tall brown-haired boy got cake, and Jack an average-height dirty blond got the soda. They were soon heading to the house to get the decorations put up, the snacks set up, and the invitations sent out.

Lane and Annie went out to send the invitations out to most of their school. After they sent out those, they did some final preparation before going shopping for clothes. Lane got a black leather jacket, a white t-shirt, and some dark ripped jeans. Annie got a grey cropped sweatshirt with black ripped jeans, French braiding her hair. Jack got a denim jacket, a red t-shirt, and also black jeans.

Now ready for the party and having a few hours to spare they began to watch a movie. Halfway through the movie, Jack noticed they didn’t have a playlist picked out.

After they picked out a playlist with plenty of fun and upbeat music, they finished their movie. Soon after finishing the movie they changed their clothes and started waiting for people to arrive.

The party was awesome with plenty of snacks, drinks, music, fun, and a little chaos. When the party was over it was already the beginning of the morning, so they all decided to go to bed and clean up in the morning.

They all woke up in a few hours and despite being tired they all started to clean up their house. After they finished cleaning the downstairs, they headed upstairs. A few minutes had passed cleaning when Annie found a strange chest. She tried several times of trying to open it, failing each time. Finally, she called in Lane and Jack to help her. The guys also tried several times but unlike Annie, they got the chest open.

Inside the chest was dark and filled with spider webs but there was also 2,000 dollars and a little black note inside the notebook there was a not written with dark black ink in cursive. The note said “Congratulations you found my missing chest, please do not go to the authorities instead go to me on 513 Maple Chery Street. Your reward is the 2,000 dollars in the chest. Goodbye, and thank you.”

The three students just stood there blankly trying to understand all of the information they were just given. Lane pulled out his phone and put the street into his GPS. They found out that it wasn’t far from where they lived. They all helped to put the chest in the car and then got themselves in the car and drove to the street the note had said.

Once they arrived at the house they asked if the owner had lost a chest. The older lady went to get her husband who came to the door full of excitement. The man asked if they found had found his chest. The three said yes almost perfectly in sync. The man showed them into his house to the dining table. After they all sat down the man said he would explain the past of the chest.

He explained that he and his two other brothers had each made a chest with a note inside. When they all turned twenty, they would trade them for something at the pawnshop. They made a bet of who would get their chest back first. He went on to explain that if you won the bet each of the brothers would have to pay you five hundred dollars in cash.

Since it was already late in the day, they had dinner with the man. For dinner that had Meatloaf and some milk.

After dinner, they headed home watched some television, and played monopoly. Soon after finishing monopoly, they all fell asleep.

In the morning they woke up went to school and got their high school diploma.

After graduated they all decided to buy a bigger house with the 2,000 dollars and each pitching in 3,000 dollars of their own they came to a total of 11,000 dollars t hey got the house. They all went back to living their normal life, but never forgeting the man.
