After three months of therapy staying off social media Danny was able to come to terms with his situation

The creators of social media intentionally encourage its addictive lure according to former employees

I am 39 years old and I have a PhD in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence I worked on the YouTube algorithm

my job was essentially to increase the time people spend on YouTube to get them to spend more and more time on it the more time a user spends on YouTube the more YouTube can earn from advertising children are most at risk

If I search for makeup here I come across videos of little girls with titles like natural makeup for back to school with hundreds of thousands of views hi guys first I want to thank my subscribers

Because I’ve reached almost 200. So today we have a new video and I’m going to show you a subtle makeup for this back-to-school season how can we protect our children from the damage caused by social media use at an increasingly early age

As a parent you feel guilty about limiting your kids screen time it's not exactly easy because it's a constant battle and there are moments when you don't feel like fighting so you leave it I think the trend is exponential the further

We get the longer the screen time gets from one generation to the next it wasn't easy with loan but it's even more complicated with Victoria

Because she's already using tactic sometimes she's in her room while I’m doing something else I imagine that she is playing or reading but in reality

She has my phone or iPad in her hand it's not the same as having a toe in the middle of the room where you can see exactly what she's watching its much more insidious screens have really invaded our lives everywhere in every room of the house

So it's much harder to control its not easy for parents to control the allure of social media by the age of 11 more than half of children are already on a social network

To help children break away from stereotypes and build self-confidence some organizations are trying to intervene in secondary schools who watches stories on Instagram and who prefers stories from celebs

because it's interesting to see the lives of others okay I’m following them because I’m a fan so I like to see what they're up to for example you get news about singers like new and stuff like that

I’m not always allowed on the phone because my parents take it away and do you like when they take it from you no it's really annoying during the week

I’m only allowed to be online for 20 minutes so I quickly check snap tick-tock and instar but then the time is up time passes quickly on social media especially on tick-tock from fourth grade on most kids have a smartphone

And are on two or three social networks and whatever happens on social media also has consequences in the school yard and conversely what happens in recess is reflected on social the two are media interconnected and form a kind of echo

Today it's not just the school yard anymore but it's also everything that happens on social media do you see sexualized videos in social media like tick tock and Instagram

yeah tick tock really has too much yes is it too much and tick tock is supposed to be an app for kids maybe we are trying to replicate the model that social media is showing us slim sexy women guys with a nice six-pack just like mine does it make sense to try to follow these criteria does it match our personality and body type

The most important thing is to accept yourself and protect yourself that's it the idea behind this program is to raise awareness of the dangers that some of these situations bring the goal is to build trust ultimately

It’s the parents job to guide them tell them to be careful and point out the bad things that can happen on the internet

If you want to teach the youngest generation to free themselves from the gaze of others it's also important that parents limit their own use of social media if children are exposed to these virtual symbols of success from a young age

How are they to act any different have we become prisoners of social media's dictatorship of happiness

Marie came to her own realization after our meeting with her she now has decided to take back her identity on Instagram it's time for me to change my posts I’ve decided to do more simple things and to only share content that doesn't make me worry is this post okay or not stop you.

The End!
