The Future of Cancel Culture No One Talks About

Cancel Culture Is Leading Us Into World War III

When asking a variety of humans what they define as 'Cancel Culture', it is startling to hear how contrasting everyone's viewpoints are. Whether defined as 'accountability culture' or 'hating on someone for different viewpoints' - either poses the big issue that it is divisive. Exploring the matter that cancel culture is filled up of gray area but remains controversial on its own for creating such rifts in society.

To a degree cancelling in society has always existed, but what happens when we take a look at how this new wave of cancelling has become a modern day extremist bible. How as a society have we come to define forgivable acts as opposed to non forgivable ones, and where humans hold authority over others of the same nature.

For argument's sake let's take a horrific act of murder, and say a young black man did such an act when he was 16 to a young woman after she called him a racial slur, and we come to find he had unresolved anger issues. Yet, this young man still serves his time and returns to society a reformed man and abides by society until the day he dies. I have understanding the public would forgive him more than if the same man were to be in the same situation and commit an act of rape instead of murder. Now, my question isn't if what this man did is forgivable or not, but why we look at two horrific acts so differently in terms of how forgivable we treat such individuals who reform there lives.

Probably the most interesting notion I heard about cancel culture was how it is on due course to lead into another world war. As we continue to become so polarized as a society on both a liberal and conservative standpoint. The left has equated that the bible is dangerous, all while expecting the world to cater to a set of rules they have made to be a modern day bible, just without the name. Matters have gone to both sides saying they will not so much as speak to someone who has opposing viewpoints as that would be associating with hateful people. How has it come to where rather than just choosing not to befriend someone who's viewpoints are 'supposedly' damaging we have taken it as far to not even associate with the other side. This leads into a more damaging issue of lack of willingness to compromise on both ends, and thus no conversation can move forth between both sides when NEITHER side is listening. Now, there will always be harmful people on both sides, but what needs to happen is those that aren't so polarizing on either side need to call out the far sided people on their political side or it will be too late and everyone will be so far left or far right the only resolution will be war.

Therefore, cancel culture goes beyond just accountability, shunning from society, but is further made present by political hypocrisy and so much more, even getting to the point where people are getting fired from the workforce (again on both sides) for having a different standpoints.

To wrap this up I call out these people (some of who I even support) for being damaging to Cancel culture in the hopes they can reevaluate how they encourage war like tendencies, and be willing to negotiate with the other side rather than just argue with one another.
