Sugar baby on what would you do?

Judgement is real

So if you don't know what this show is it's this show that stages these scenes or scenarios that do really happen in real life. They do this to test to see what people would do. Would they step up and do or say something or walk away and mind their own business.

The sugar baby scenario was that there were these two girls who were at a restaurant talking about how to pay for college. One of the girls brought up the idea of being a sugar baby. The way she described it to her friend was the real old school way (the true way) of doing this lifestyle. She basically said that she would go hang out with the guy then get paid and get gifts. Her friend was concerned that it wasn't safe or that it was basically selling yourself. They wanted to see if anyone would speak up.

When they run the scene two sets of parents speak up. Both parents were saying that it was a bad idea. One woman and her friends thought the girl should do what she wants to do or become a stripper. The woman who suggested that she should become a stripper thought stripping was safer. The women who agreed with it thought as long as you were safe then who cares. A young lady told the wannabe sugar baby as long as she was smart and safe about it then she should do it. Another person was telling the young woman that there are better things to do then to be a sugar baby. This person also said that a lot of women who are sugar babies don't spend the money on tuition they usually spend it on other things.

I was surprised that there wasn't more judgmental people. I was surprised that there was a group of older ladies that had one who said hey do it but be safe and another that said hey just become a stripper. I think some in the sugar community would be offended by an older person suggest that she become a stripper instead. In the older lady's mind she may think that stripping is a better and safer option.

The take away could be that people don't have any problem giving advice or their opinions to younger people. This advice or the opinions could come from a good place. They may want you to succeed or not want you to make the mistakes they made. It could also come from a judgmental place. There is a lot that they may not understand, it could be a misunderstanding or something they don't know anything about. When met with judgment if it is a misunderstanding or something they don't know anything about the best thing to do is to try to explain it to them. If they still don't understand then don't get mad. It's best that you try to explain things then move on if you can't reason with them.

Older people could also be giving you advice from what they wish they did in their lives. The thing is what they don't realize is that you are not them, what they wanted for their young life may not be what you want for yours. We know that this advice comes from a good place even if the delivery or the intention is a little faulty. They don't want us to have any regrets but when they say this do they want us to avoid their regrets? Not everyone has the same path so take the advice with a grain of salt.

The take away could also be people can be accepting of non traditional lifestyles. Out of 6 people that said something only 3 said definitely don't do it and gave a traditional alternative. One said maybe don't do it offered up a surprising alternative. Older people or adults have a habit of leaning towards what is traditional or what their parents did. We sometimes learn what is traditional or acceptable from our parents.

I was really surprised that they did this scene. I was also surprised at the older lady and her friends, how accepting they were. I think that the more that is known about non traditional lifestyles the more they will be accepted.
