Money Does Buy Happiness- and it's not F*king Fair

I'm tired of being told that money does not buy happiness. That's what people with money tell people without money to make themselves feel better.

Have you ever been told by someone that money doesn't buy happiness? Well that's poopshit. Money does buy happiness. Not directly, but indirectly, and it still matters just as much. There is a few things that money buys that indirectly makes people with it happy, and that is resources, fun, and security. Without money, I'm sure these rich would be depressed as hell like the rest of us because they would not have all their special perks that are taken completely for granted and disregarded as boring. Then, they would understand why money does buy happiness.

When you have good money, you can pay to be stress-free. Have back pain? Go get a massage. Broke your phone? Buy a new one the same day. Need a drink? Go to the bar with your friends. Need to stress-eat? $100+ takeout. Birthday party to go to? No worries about affording a present. The list goes on, I'm sure you can think of a ton of things that wealthy people get the privilege of doing that poor people don't. They don't have to worry about their basic needs being met, let alone if they have any fun money. I heard this phrase growing up a lot from adults, and it isn't a coincidence that I was a poor kid, and looked it. I'm sure you were trying to be nice Ms. Scarlo, but even as a child I understood that my parent's misery could be fixed with money, and I could get some damn new clothes and shoes, too.

Money doesn't buy happiness? Where did this crap even come from? Let me tell you my theory; rich people or people comfortable with their finances have been saying this to poor people for decades, centuries maybe, to make themselves feel better that they use all of their money on selfish wants while their neighbors and friends struggle to make ends meet. Maybe they really don't feel happy in their indulgent lives, but that has nothing to do with money, it is because they are not grateful for what their money provides them, and that is another issue in and of itself. If you aren't satisfied, don't make excuses about your money not providing happiness. It is providing you an avenue that most people don't get, and you are choosing to stroll past that avenue right into a wall.

Rich people have opportunities that poor people may never have in their life or their children's life. Education, travel, the list goes on. It's not the poor person's fault, in most cases it is generational poverty and lack of resources and opportunity holding these people back. So why are we looking up to rich people like they are super special when in fact many of them have never worked for anything in their life? If anything, we should be applauding the poor people who work overtime and still can't make ends meet. People sacrificing time with their kids, with their lives to keep society going and put food on the table. These are the people that think of others before themselves.

People end up in all types of situations and it's not always their fault. Should people really be telling us money doesn't buy happiness when they can see that it clearly does, and that having money would solve all of their problems? Can't we empathize with people? I couldn't watch my neighbor go hungry after what I've had to suffer in my life. I guess rich people could lack empathy from lack of experience and living a harsh reality.

If you are rich and you are saying that money doesn't buy happiness to people, stop. Nobody wants to hear it dude. Money does in fact buy happiness because it buys you resources, security, and fun. That is crucial in today's society and many people suffer without it. It's 2021 now. Don't be condescending. If money can buy you what you need, it's up to you to be happy.
