"Maybe He'll Notice Her Now"

If you are a fan of Mindy McCready, you have probably heard her song, "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now." I have long liked this song, as well as Mindy herself as a singer. She had an amazing talent, and her songs always touch the hearts of her fans.

This song holds a special spot for me because I rarely feel like I am seen, and there are times I believe that the only way I am going to be seen is to one day not be seen at all.

Although she loved the man in this song, she did not feel appreciated, loved, or valued. As a woman, that is worse than being cheated on. No lie, ask a woman if she agrees and ten to one she is going to say YES! So, she decides to place a letter in the spot where a painting was hung, feeling he would notice that empty spot on the wall before she noticed her being gone. When he came home and saw that she was gone and the note was on the wall where the painting used to hang, he felt everything she had been feeling for however long.

"Maybe he'll notice her now maybe he'll open his eyes."

Is that not all a woman in pain wants—to have the man she loves to see her? And if he does not see her, to open his eyes before it is too late and see how much pain she is in. All a woman really wants is for the man she loves to fight for her.

"Sometimes it takes somebody leaving for them to realize, maybe he'll tell her she's the only thing he can't live without, now that she's gone maybe he'll notice her now."

Ever heard the saying, "You never know what you have until it is gone?" It is sad but true. Some men (most often) and women (too often enough) do not know what they have until it is no longer in their grasp, and then they wonder where it all went wrong. Sometimes they need to fall apart before they can really know what they want.

Be careful with the hearts of the ones you love. What would you do if they never came back to you? Falling apart together does no one any good if you can't find a way to fall back together in the end.

I guess the couple in this song were lucky. He wised up and she went home. They found a way to block off the distance between them and to focus on each other again. To get back where they were before they became lost to each other.

What if she had made a part two to this song? Years down the road... would they be in the same spot once again? Would they have never ever taken each other for granted again? Who actually knows? There are so many real-life people out there that live this every day and not just relate to the song. It does not always work out for them.

Sometimes I do not believe that my husband would be affected at all if I was just to disappear one day and all that was in my place was a note. Would he even care? Would he even notice if I did? How long would it take him to notice if he did?

No woman or even man period wants to feel like they are unseen by the people they love the most. No man wants to feel like he is less of a man, and no woman wants to feel unimportant. Treat your lovers well.
