Life Is What You Take Of It

No, life isn't for the making; it's for the taking

My editor said I made a typo in the title.

I said Nah.

Life is what you take of it. I'm not a fan of "what you make of it."

It implies that things will unfold, and we get to 'make' something of it.

It says that, on some levels, we have no control over things and that we need to bob and weave in accordance with what it tosses our way. I call BS on that, though. And I bet on some level, so do you.

And here's what I mean.

You have the power to choose how you react to difficult situations

Life is full of difficult situations.

But you already know that.

You may get passed over for a promotion, have a fight with a loved one, or have a piece rejected by an editor. It can be tempting to react with anger, sadness, or frustration. However, it is essential to remember that you can choose how you respond to challenging situations.

While you may be unable to control what happens to you, you can control how you respond.

When you are faced with adversity, try to remember that it is an opportunity to grow and learn. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, focus on what you can do to improve the situation. Taking this positive approach will make you find difficult situations are not as daunting as they seem.

Don't let what's going on now dictate your future

It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget about the future.

All you have to do is turn on the news, and suddenly everything seems so dire.

It's easy to let your current situation dictate how you think about your future. But don't do that. Don't let your current situation dictate your future.

You are not your current situation.

You are not where you are right now.

You are not what has happened to you in the past.

You are so much more than that.

You are a force to be reckoned with.

You are powerful beyond measure.

You have the ability to create your own future, regardless of your current situation.

So don't let your current situation dictatetoeFuture. Create the future you want, one day at a time.

Embrace change - it's the only thing that's guaranteed in life

It's been said that the only thing guaranteed in life is change.

And yet, so many of us resist change, even when we know it's for the best. We get comfortable in our routines and habits, and altering them can be daunting. But we need to embrace change if we want to grow and thrive. After all, change is what keeps us moving forward.

It's what helps us to learn and to grow.

It challenges us to try new things and to step out of our comfort zones. So next time you're faced with a change, don't resist it - embrace it. Embrace the uncertainty. Embrace the new challenges.

Embrace the opportunity to grow.

Be grateful for what you do have, even when things are tough

It is easy to take things for granted when life is going well.

But even in the toughest of times, there is always something to be grateful for. Maybe it's a roof over your head or a warm meal. Perhaps it's a friend who always has a kind word or a reminder that better days are ahead. Whatever it is, taking the time to appreciate the positive things in your life can make a big difference. Gratitude has been linked with improved mental and physical health, increased happiness, and stronger relationships.

So even when times are tough, remember to be grateful for what you do have. It will make all the difference.

Find meaning and purpose in your life, no matter what that looks like for you

Everyone has their own idea of what a fulfilling life looks like.

For some, it may involve raising a family, pursuing a successful career, or making a difference in their community. Others may prioritize travel, personal growth, or creative expression. The important thing is that you find meaning and purpose in whatever you do.

This can be a challenge, especially when life doesn't go the way you planned.

But if you're open to new possibilities and stay true to your values, you can create a life rich with purpose. By doing what you love and positively impacting the world around you, you can create a life that is truly worth living. So whatever your dreams may be, don't be afraid to chase them.

By finding your purpose in life, you can create something extraordinary.

The final word

Life is full of difficult situations. You will face challenges and heartache, but you have the power to choose how you react.

Don't let your current situation dictate your future - choose to be happy, no matter what life throws your way. Embrace change - it's the only thing that's guaranteed in life. Be grateful for what you do have, even when things are tough.

Find meaning and purpose in your life, no matter what that looks like for you.

We hope these tips provide some inspiration as you continue on your journey.
