Always The New Kid
You would think that having to move every three or four years or so, would somehow help me manage my social anxiety, and just my general weird, but no.
The Locket of Truth
I was a bookworm and a history buff, so reading about the past made me wish to live then. “I was born too late,” I used to tell my mom. Reading also allowed me to escape the present day mess our world was in socially, politically, technologically. In books masks were for parties or thieves; sickness was cured; wars brought about peace. For me the present was a nightmare.

A massive stack of photos in single envelopes, and polaroid's in giant manila folders covered the area rug beneath my feet.
Passion for People
"I've lost my husband abroad. I don't know much about what happened after that. I know I've been lying on the couch for hours, and the hours turned into days, and now two years have passed. We have two children and they spend most of their time with their grandparents. So, I guess that's why you're here. My parents finally had enough, so they called DHS."

This is something that I have wanted to write for a long time now. I suppose it is something that even once this article is concluded I will still want to write about. A part of me wants to preface everything to come with some sort of warning or preemptive apology, but in all honesty I can't come up with one that feels sufficient. Let's just say that I love where I live now and the people that I am surrounded by, and that none of this is indicative of any shortcomings on their part.
John DodgePublished 3 years ago in HumansBlack in America
Its impossible to fit in when you’re Black in America. You’re like a puzzle piece being jammed until it bends and almost breaks. You smile and say hello but instead of greetings you get threats, blank stares, or fearful faces. You are more alone in a crowd than in a cell of isolation called solitary confinement.
Daddy MilagroPublished 3 years ago in HumansNothing Good Can Come From Fear (The Religious Content Free Edition!)
Author's note: It is kind of neat knowing that human moderators will be reading all this. I feel like I have a new family. Hello, moderators. My new Moderator family. Hope your moderating is going at least moderately well today. Guess I need to let you know that the first time I submitted this you rejected it for having "religious content" Sorry about that. Guess I should have read the rules when I plopped down my $99. No worries. Happy to oblige and have prepared this brand new, just as impactful and interesting, religious content free edition.
Everyday JunglistPublished 3 years ago in HumansSuffering Is Not a Requirement of Morality (The Religious Content Free Edition!)
Note: Hello Vocal. Another reminder to my moderator friends that I goofed the first time I submitted this and included religious content. What a doofus right? Definitely should have read the rules before pulling out the old wallet and shelling out 99 smackaroons for a membership. Oh well, lesson learned. No worries though as I have removed any and all reference to any of that silly religion stuff and present to you now a fully religious content version free edition! Enjoy!

Gretchen LindemannPublished 3 years ago in HumansHidden Under A White Sheep
"You're not a normal mother!". I cannot tell you how many times I have heard my daughter's say this to me. Sometimes, it is said with gratitude and awe, other times with disappointment and disdain. What I can tell you, is I am not going to change anytime soon.
