Everything You Missed From the Simi, Adekunle Gold, and Temi Otedola Saga (Photos).

I love this story!

Talk about a series of unfortunate events.

So, if you missed the very interesting and very funny series of events that took place from February 24th up until February 25th of 2020 on Nigerian Twitter, then I have a treat for you because the whole thing is just madness, and it’s all really funny and very entertaining.

The whole thing started with Adekunle Gold, then next thing singer Simi was roped in, and before we knew it Temi Otedola was roped in as well. And if you just stumbled upon anything that was going on, you’d be so confused as to what was going on but then when you understand it all, not only does it make complete sense, it’s also just really funny and I cannot wait to share this one with you.

It all started very innocently with a tweet from popular disc jockey, VJ Adams when he tweeted out this picture to his league of 73,000 followers with the caption: “The year was 2015 #illorin”

At first, the picture was picking up little steam until Adekunle Gold saw the picture and quote tweeted it saying, “Who be that guy beside you?”

Now, that’s when the whole thing blew up. Adekunle Gold has over 1.8 Million followers on Twitter and he is renowned for being a clown and taking things very light and fun on Twitter so his fans used this as an opportunity to tout him.

People started quoting the picture saying things like “AdekunleGold say one word”, “When Adekunle Gold was Adekunle copper”, and “AG baby is not your baby” amongst others,

The game had started and fans wanted to play more, so:

The Pictures Started.

All of a sudden, Adekunle Gold fans started digging up throwback photos of him and hauling it his way.

Pictures like this one below which Adekunle Gold responded to saying, “Who be the guy for middle?”

And they did not stop coming. At one point, even Adekunle had to tweet out saying: “If I see one more throw back picture of me...”

But you know that just made people go harder. Somebody posted this one below to which Adekunle replied ‘Who be that?’

And the pictures just kept on coming.

This started from February 24th and carried on even till the next day. That was when singer Simi entered the chat.

Simi's Turn

Simi came online and after getting caught up with everything tweeted: What did my husband do to you people?

Immediately she tweeted this, you know Nigerians being Nigerians, they stopped their rough play with Adekunle Gold and carried the play over to Simi’s side. Next thing it was Simi who was being bombarded by her own throwback pictures.

So where did Temi Otedola come from in all this?

When I tell you – nobody still knows! 😂

Blame the Twitter algorith. On one user’s Twitter feed, right when Simi tweeted out her post, the next tweet right under it just so happened to be Temi Otedola’s tweet saying, “this is just the beginning” and the way the whole thing just jelled couldn’t be more perfect.

People couldn’t help but laugh at the Twitter algorithm.

And of course some people also had to also go and dig up Temi’s own throwbacks.

Overall, it was a good ol' time full of fun fare, good laughs, and a good twist of fate from Twitter’s part that made Twitter just a little bit more interesting for those 2 days.
