Internet dating is now a very competitive business. In this "jet" age, people always seem to be in a rush and everything is fast-moving. You get this impression when you see the ads on the TV—instant cereals and smartphones which can enable things to be done at a fraction of the time before the digital age. This needs no time to find the one thing that every human spirit longs for.... and that is love.
Internet Dating Makes James Van Der Beek Cry
Before this seems like I’m going off on some rant about internet dating and how shit it is—I’m not. I’ve done it quite a bit for the last few years—mixed results mostly (partially because I never know what the fuck I want exactly)—and I have met some nice people. I’ve also met some complete loons as well… but I guess at least I have stories.
Does Unfriending on Facebook Mean Unfriending In Real Life?
June is LGBT Pride month, even if the current resident of the White House won't recognize it. So it's fair to tell you that I am part of the community, I'll wait while you pick your jaws up off the floor. It's true, I am a gay man and I am very proud to be part of this community. That also means I can be a little sensitive about things people post on Facebook, in regards to my community.
Why I Purposely Trashed My OkCupid Profile
I first met my wife on OkCupid a little over six years ago. It was a very strange happenstance to be honest. She was just browsing around when she noticed a small thumbnail that featured a guy with long hair down in the corner of her screen. She clicked on it, saw something in my profile that she liked, and sent a message. Years later she told me that I wasn't even "supposed" to reply and that she sent the message with the belief that I was out of her league. Luckily for both of us I did reply which eventually led to us getting married a few years later. It sounds pretty cut and dry, right?
You've Got (E)mail!
I just got back from an online date and had to share it with you… I don’t even know where to start! I had had a lovely day and was looking forward to having a glass of wine and catching up on a few TV shows before having an early night. Before I knew it my phone was ringing. Without looking I answered it, figuring it would be a friend wanting to pop over for dinner or a drink, that was a mistake. It was someone who I had been talking to online and because I have been having issues with my internet connection (thanks NBN) we had exchanged numbers to make it easier. I had been feeling bad about sending one message every few days, especially after I saw a news segment about how “benching” is now a common thing and I didn’t want him to get the wrong idea. The messaging had been terrible the entire time we had spoken, imagine trying to read this entire post without any grammar and you’ll have rough idea of what it was like! Anyway I agreed to meet him at a local shopping centre for a coffee and that is where my “interesting” evening began.
How to Make a Dating Profile that Doesn't Suck (For Guys)
Whether you're a guy on Tinder or a bachelor on OKCupid, you probably already know how important having a good dating profile can be. If you want to have success, you need to be have a good profile that actually casts you in a good light.
Can You Trust A Guy Who Ghosted Someone Else?
Ghosting is a sad reality in today's modern dating scene. It's the act of disappearing without a warning or a trace as a way to break up with someone. Most people agree it's an act of cowardice that says volumes about the person who does it.
If Asian Dating Is Your Persuasion, Single and the City Should Be Your Thing
A few years ago, I was friended by one Amber Guesa on Facebook. She runs a social dating site called SingleAndTheCity. I looked at the pictures on her page, and I was quite intrigued. But I never raised enough impetus to actually elevate my aspirations and attend one of her parties. Grounded to yet another boring weekend in Westchester, Amber personally invited me to an event that I could not be persuaded to miss.
