Change the World Now

Everyone is capable of change, just gotta take a leap.

Everyone says that they can’t make a change, that they are a single individual that couldn’t make a difference. They say that, but in no way is this true.

Take a breath,

Breathe in,

And Believe,

Believe that for a moment you are not what they tell you, but instead break the rules of what's thought to be possible. You will surprise yourself beyond wonder, and maybe even the world. Change doesn't happen all at once, but letting the actions you hate continue makes it worse.

Instead, don’t be scared to stand out, create a plan, get people involved. There is always someone who will have a similar thought, and a similar opinion as you. You just need to look in the right places, but no matter what the threats are, you must learn to be brave. If you never learn to be brave, you will miss out on what could be. Courage is hard to gain, but when conquered, it will be demanded to be shot down. It is a never ending war, but what you believe will stand past all the haters.

Like anything else, you may fail, but that is not a reason to give up. A failure is not the end, a fact that many people forget. A failure is a learning experience, and a chance to get up and try again. As Albert Einstein, the man who created the lightbulb said, "Great success is built on failure, frustration, even catastrophe."

Making a change is difficult, being the change is even harder. Putting yourself down, and believing you are incapable of making a change is not helping anything. If you say you can’t do it, you won’t even try. If you don’t try who knows what you could have accomplished. If you think you can, you at least will try. Not every try is a success, but make history today.

You have no clue how much of an impact you may have on someone, till you see it, my experience being a step I took, not alone, it was a class assignment for Human Relations class. We went to the local elementary schools, and spoke to the kids about bullying. The result was unbelievable.

Starting out, I honestly thought there would be nothing, I thought that the kids were not going to be willing to participate, and that in the end it would not change a thing. Our minds were blown even from the start of our presentation, where we played a game called the Big Wind Blows. Every student in the class participated in the activity.

The most amazing part was the one student that was quivering behind the chair, because she didn’t find a chair in time, and was too terrified to speak in front of the class, but she eventually participated like the others.

Ending the next activity, brought the next; discussing stories of being bullied, and what may surprise you is that there was not one kid who did not have a story to the question whether they have been, or have witnessed, some type of bullying. Leading us into the part where we describe how to stand up to bullying in a way that doesn’t induce fighting the fire with more fire.

The kids were engaged, listening, and participating. There were certain parts that I think we could've done better, but that is a worry of the past. No matter what we could have done better, we did something for the better, one of the memories I will never forget.

This was my change. It may have been an assignment, but now that I know I could make a resolution like this, I would do it a thousand more times, till every kid in the world knew that it is not okay, and that they are not alone. What is your change? What will you do?
