Sarah hesitated, her finger poised over her phone's keypad. She wanted to ring, but she didn't want to dial. She was uneasy. This was ridiculous; all she had to say was that she had dialed the wrong number and nobody would care. Her finger was instructed to press by her brain, but her muscles were uncooperative.

After upgrading her email client, a popup requesting for permission to move her address book appeared. The entries might have been manually approved by her. When she had some free time, she went down the list one at a time, erasing the names of people she wished to forget forever, including those from her hated previous work as a waitress at Burger Legend.

All many cowboys staring snidely at her chest had made her despise her work. She wasn't to blame for being so "full figured"! But when she heard the name Walter Korzybski, she felt a sense of remorse. Later, she would remove that one, she promised herself.

She experienced a lump in her throat and a burning feeling in her eyes as soon as she recognized an old familiar name. Elizabeth Naddeo Hello, Ellie. A tear began to fall down Sarah's face as she almost delighted in the opportunity to succumb to overwhelming melancholy at the loss of her close friend.

Near the end, Sarah would see Eleanor practically every day, gazing into Ellie's pale, sunken yellow eyes and trying to appear hopeful while actually feeling hopeless. The prognosis is favorable, the doctors say, so you'll be OK, Ellie. Sarah had been watching Ellie's burial with tears running down her cheeks as the casket was hauled by two white horses on a carriage. She struggled not to cry at the thought.

Hey, come on, that was more than two years ago. We must proceed! Nevertheless, she and Ellie had had a lot of fun memories while growing up.

She suddenly felt the impulse to call Eleanor's old number one final time to check if anyone was there. Crazy, she realized. Do it!

“ Eleanor Naddeo, good day.

It was not conceivable for it to be!

“… Hello, is there anyone around?

"Yes, Sarah Sumner," she said. Just disconnect!

Hello, Jess You have not contacted me. It's been so much time. Just a moment. Are you and Rolly still hanging out? ”

I know it's a joke! “Who?”

"Walter Korzybski, the biker and your boyfriend."

The voice was so recognizable. “No. I'm not, no. Is that truly you, Ellie?

Who did you suppose it was? "Yes, of course it is." Eleanor laughed her distinctive laugh, a high-pitched giggle.

Don't get me wrong, but you died, Ellie. last two years. liver cancer

Eleanor guffawed. "Yes, I do recall being sick. After that, I can't recall anything. But now I'm OK. I've returned to school to complete my teacher preparation.

I'll wake up soon, Sarah reasoned. The skin above her right wrist was squeezed. “Ow!”

"Are, you alright?"

Yes, I'm good, I'm OK. I just …. What university do you attend?

Eleanor paused. I can't remember the name right now. I'm sorry, but I frequently forget things. She had an angry tone.

"It's OK Don't worry, Ellie. Just wonderful to speak with you! What about your family?

Oh, mom's doing good, dad's working a lot of overtime, and they plan to take a globe trip in 2019!

“Wow!”

Chuck has a new girlfriend named Sandy who wears pom poms. He has his college degree. While looking for a legitimate job, he is working at MacDonald's.

That's businesslike of him, I say.

Yes, I also receive free Big Macs. She exclaimed with her signature chuckle once more.

A pang of affection and desire hit Sarah. Can we meet, Ellie? You should come see me.

Eleanor's tinkling chuckle recurs. Naturally, why not? It's been so much time!

Even though it seemed absurd, the mere notion of hugging and embracing her buddy Ellie once more made her pulse race. Wow, what a wonderful idea. Look, tomorrow afternoon is free. The connection was dead, and Sarah realized it. She hit the redial button hastily. She dialed the number that appeared when Ellie's number had shown. The phone rang repeatedly. Hurry up, Ellie!

At long last, someone answered the phone. A male voice responded. Hello, Pizza Hut. How may I assist you?
