3 Signs It's Time to Walk Away

Leave a relationship if you are experiencing any of these signs...

I think we've all been there. In some sort of quasi-relationship, but plagued with the thoughts that maybe this isn't the right person for you, and you're thinking about ending the relationship.

Walking away from a relationship, even if there was never any talk of commitment, can be a very difficult decision, and can be heart wrenchingly painful. You may really care about this person, but maybe you just don't feel like you're in love or maybe the situation has stagnated. You may also be really afraid of breaking the other person's heart. And you've grown so accustomed to his or her company that you know it will be painful for you too, you'll really miss their company.

Understand that the decision to end a relationship is not something to be taken lightly. You're going to want to sit down and really think this through. It's also important to keep in mind that no one is perfect.

Time to Move On

Here are my top three signs that it's time to walk away...

1. You don't see a future with this person.

If you simply can't imagine yourself with this person in a year from now, five years from now, ten years from now... that could be the moment that seals your verdict. If you can't imagine walking down the aisle with this person, or growing old with them, then leave and open up some space for someone new to come into your life. You see, if you stay in a situation that you don't see future in, you're actually blocking yourself from meeting someone new. Someone that you could be more compatible with. Do not stay just because it feels comfortable or because the sex is good. Take what you learned from that relationship and move on.

2. You are too different.

Maybe you have cultural or religious differences that you just can't seem to get past. It's possible that you both desire different lifestyles or you have completely opposite life goals. For instance, if one of you wants to get married and start a family, and the other one wants to travel the world, no matter how much you compromise, you'll never be on the same page! You should never have to give up on what it is that you want from life. And if you do, you'll never be happy.

Now this is not to say that you should find someone exactly like you. That would completely boring. But you're going to have to make sure that you have enough common ground to make it worth your time and effort.

You deserve to feel loved.

3. You don't feel loved and appreciated.

There are many things in life you settle for, but love should NOT be one of them! Unless it's passionate, extraordinary love, then it is simply a waste of your time. There are just too many mediocre things in life, but love should not be one of them! You, as well as every other person on this planet, deserve to have REAL LOVE in your life. And if you don't feel truly loved, adored, and appreciated, then it's time to MOVE ON.
