Love can defy the ages. Literally in these movies cases. Time traveling to find love has probably something we have all thought of; which mistake to fix, how to get that one person to fall for you in the correct way, etc. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes and sometimes we don’t. These people learn that time is precious and something that they can’t waste, even if traveling through time is at their finger tips.

Somewhere In Time

This is the oldest movie on the list and one of my favorites!

In 1972, a playwright Richard Collier, played by the one and only Christopher Reeves, becomes fascinated by an old photo of Elise McKenna, played by another wonderful actor Jane Seymour, a turn-of-the-century stage actress. Staying at the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, Michigan, Richard's obsession of her grows until he learns from a friend that time travel may actually be possible through hypnosis with a few little tricks. Richard actually travels in time to meet this actress Elise, and the two appear destined to be together. However, forces are trying to keep them apart and it’s not just the time difference.

Time Freak

Have you ever met a girl that is so beautiful and takes you out of your comforts zone and lets you experience life differently? This is how Stillman feels about this girl he has tried so hard to get. When they realize their different outlooks on life are too different, Debbie dumps Stillman. This causes Stillman to create a time machine and make it so everything turns out right. They never fight, always making sure they agree on everything, isn’t that everything a couple could want! Right?

About Time

This is my favorite movie on the list. I watch it like five times a year! It is the sweetest love story about family and finding true love. When Tim has a crappy New Years Eve party, his father decides it’s time to tell him about the male gene of time traveling. If they find a quiet dark place, clench their fists, and think of the time and place they want to go they will be there. Unsure about this, Tim tries it and ends up in the middle of his New Year’s Eve party. Excited about his new found powers, Tim decides to use it to find a girlfriend and spend time with his family. He learns tips and tricks of traveling and trying to make things right, but he also learns that time traveling has rules and sometimes he can’t travel or it would change his life completely.

Time Travelers Wife

This is the only movie that I haven’t seen on this list and I’ll tell you why. I can’t imagine having a husband that just leaves and goes to the next milestone in life. I could not imagine spending a lot of that alone. I love my husband and if just left for who knows how long I would lose my mind. That being said I heard this is a great movie and a good watch. The book is good as well. I’ve read some of that and it has it’s moments. I won’t go into detail, just watch it! HA!

13 Going On 30

Now I think everyone knows this movie, and if you don’t you need to watch it. It’s about a girl who is tired of being 13 with all the people who bully her and her just trying to fit. So she goes in her closet and chants: Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving. She is now a thirty year old woman living the dream working at a magazine company. But is this really the life she has always wanted? She tries to understand her new life by turning to her old life. Jennifer Garner is a wonderful actress and it is such a fun, hilarious watch!

Kate & Leopold

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this movie, but anything with Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman, count me in! Kate, is a 21st century executive, a driven to succeed woman in the corporate world. Leopold, the third Duke of Albany, is a charming gentleman and bachelor in the late 18OOs. With career and social expectations blooming, each has grown very cynical about the possible notion of falling in love with someone. When a rip in the fabric of time thrusts Leopold into the 21st century and in New York no less, the potential for an old-fashioned modern romance ignites between Kate and Leopold.

The Time Machine

Trying to save the love of his life, we watch a scientist try and trick fate and save the woman he has just proposed too. There is always a but coming and this but is that he can’t save her because fate will never change and she was always meant to die. So with nothing for him in the immediate future he accidentally travels 800,000 years into the future and learns that the future has changed into something more savage than he thought possible.

Forever Young

This is a fun love story and fun watch. After his true love falls into a coma, test pilot Daniel undergoes suspended animation in a military experiment conducted by his friend Harry that’s only supposed to last a year. A series of mishaps result in McCormick's being all but forgotten and 53 years later, a young boy accidentally frees a confused McCormick. With nowhere else to go he eventually lives with the boy and his mother. However, complications arise from the experiment and his time might be running out.

Back To The Future

You might think, this is a stretch and it is but it also isn’t. This is really a movie about making sure Marty’s parent’s fall back in love again after him coming to the past ruins certain scenes that should’ve taken place to get them together. Now the last two movies in this series I wouldn’t count as romantic really, but this one definitely.

Prince of Persia

An orphan taken in by the King of Persia grows up to become the third prince of Persia. When he’s all grown, his brothers and him ransack a holy city on rumors of them holding weapons. When they conquer the city, the orphan is now engaged to the priestess who holds in her possession the dagger that holds the power of the sands of time. They go on a journey where they must protect the dagger, but they both have different ideas on how to do it. With many forces trying to get to them and the dagger, they have to figure out how to keep safe and save the land that they love.
