The Haunting of Briarwood Manor
Briarwood Manor was once a grand estate, built by a wealthy family in the late 1800s. It was a place of opulence and luxury, with sprawling gardens, crystal chandeliers, and marble floors. But that was a long time ago, and the mansion had fallen into disrepair. The gardens were overgrown with weeds, the chandeliers had long since gone dark, and the marble floors were cracked and stained.
Shariq ArshadPublished 12 months ago in HorrorThe Silence - Movie Review
As a huge horror fan, I feel foolish waiting this long to finally get round to watching this modern classic. The Silence is a truly intense survival horror movie with a premise similar to that of A Quiet Place, with the monsters being these flocks of blind demonic bats (with super hearing), from deep beneath the earth's surface, much like the blind xenomorph style Aliens from out of space we see in the Quiet Place. The Silence feels both modern yet vintage with it's story, giving us plenty of zombie apocalypse vibes, while having our protagonists escape a hundred hungry bats, much like the Alfred Hitchcock classic, The Birds. However, the film is not without it's problems, which I will discuss within this review.

He wakes up in an empty hospital (what is this, a VA clinic?) and wanders the halls looking for a nurse, a doctor, anyone. I'm a psychiatric nurse and early in my career, I worked at a residential mental health facility. One of our residents was an elective mute, which means that he didn't/wouldn't/couldn't talk, but there were no medical reasons as to why. He had spoken earlier in his life and in fact seemed quite normal back then, with the exception of being close to seven feet tall. He'd been raised in the Deep South and joined the military when he was 19, but one night he vanished. He was declared AWOL, and eventually he was declared missing and dead.

THE CHAIR: This short tale starts benignly enough, with a friendly-seeming ghost playing with children, but when you learn the origins of the ghost – and just why the ghost is moving the object around the room, it quickly gets a lot creepier. Submitted via Reddit by Scoopwhoop:

I was driving across country with my mom and sister when I was 16 and my sister was 20. It was late, but we were well rested still and alert. We were driving along an interstate and needed gas and a bathroom break, so we stopped at the only rest stop in 200 miles. There was a van full of teenagers on a road trip at the gas station, as well as a small grey car parked at the pump in front of us with two young men standing still outside of it.

The House On The Hill
The house on the hill had always been a source of intrigue and fear for the people of the small town that nestled at its base. Its ominous presence loomed over the landscape like a dark shadow, and rumors of its former occupants' dabbling in the occult had spread like wildfire throughout the community.
