A deep voice patterned with calm words, carried by a soothing tone that makes you stand tall before your arrogance and fears. It’s how Dr. Brown usually structured his sentences. "You are a man of choice son, a tree in the desert, you can walk away from this now, or you can walk me through slowly inside your head" said Dr. Brown. Adam tried hard to maintain his silence, however, his silence was suffocated by the lack of words available in the English language, needed to express its overwhelming emotions. His eyes might be shut in focus, but the air in this room was barely enough for him to inhale. Dr. Brown then calmly said "have some faith in the inner you. Put down your weapons, and focus on the main goal, it was never a war. Let it flow and watch it peacefully go. Let it go Adam" Dr. Brown has offered Adam a sledgehammer made up of words, all Adam wanted to do with it, was to hammer that wall of hesitation, just once, and watch it collapse; and so it does. Adam's movement decreased noticeably, his breath slowed down, and his eyes broke open like dawn, a river of tears came out of his eyes carrying old memories and negative debris. A long exhale has finally set him free. The sledgehammer had done what it was meant to, but another tool was required to make Adam speak freely, and Dr. Brown believed that silence was that tool. It worked like background music to whatever battle Adam was going through at that moment. Only a few minutes later when Adam barely got off the bed, sips of water were hardly swallowed. He then used his gym shirt to wipe off tears from his face while he said "AHH, Doctor. Ahhh. I still wake up to my mom’s voice, and the whole upstairs still smells like my dad. How can I talk when I never thought I would lose them both in the same month? I am fully sufficient with pain; I don’t have more room inside me to contain any other type of emotions or feelings. I thought about death, killing myself, or just live according to my curiosity. You mentioned choices Doctor, but sometimes having choices are just as bad as having none. I choose to believe in the immortality of my parents, it is not real I know, but I choose to believe. With beliefs, miracles happen. Doctor I will keep on talking, and I will see you again. But I have to get going now; there a life awaiting me behind these walls.” Dr. Brown walked over in a faster pace than usual and held the door open for Adam. "That life awaited you long enough, it started to lose interest in you Adam. You need to impress her to gain her back" Dr. Brown said. Adam called his friend, the only one he wanted to call. They agreed to meet in the park by Adam’s house. It was windy enough to keep the mind distracted; every leaf and every flower was dancing to the rhythm of the breeze. Adam gracefully sat by one of the trees, he started crying softly but his tears were so intense they felt like lava, a calm volcano erupting from within. "The wind..it is so majestic. Its takes just the right amount of ones negative thoughts and soothes out ones dead frozen eyes. It substituted with what it has been carrying for a while, a collection of rose and flower scents and others happy echoes and laughter’s." He said quietly. Adam was talking to the tree he leaned against until he saw his friend walking around like a lost kid. Adam could’ve waved or got up and walked towards her. But he preferred to sit there and enjoy watching her wonder. She soon gave up and began ringing Adam but he never answered the call. She then decided to lean against another tree trunk and just waited there. An hour later Adam decided he wanted to go back home, to his own place. He walked towards her with a slow pace, watching her playing on her phone the whole time, without admiring the surroundings or sunset with even a single look. He stood behind her for a few minutes before she noticed him. Kenzy got up immediately and smiled to see him "Where have you been? I tried to call too with no answer. Been sitting here for at least 3 hours. Can’t feel my ass anymore!" "Hey. Want to come over for a tea. Or maybe whiskey?" He replied, with avoidance of a sure argument. Kenzy start cleaning her jeans, as she nodded her head, yes. They walked in silence the whole way to Adam’s humble home. "Adam, your house is clean but man, you need a woman in your life. I mean this looks like a demo house. Its not cozy at all." Adam poured whiskey in a short glass with a single, homemade frozen Cola cube, he then start drilling a few holes in that cube with a toothpick as if it was art, Kenzy looked at him weird. "I could’ve made these holes before it was frozen" Adams said with a smile. "Yeah. I’m glad you noticed that" Kenzy puts 2 cubes in her drink and mixes it with her finger and walked towards the living room. Adam watches from the kitchen and whispers in disappointment, "Sometimes, the process of making a drink, adds a different feel to the drink itself…" Kenzy sat on the couch; she wrapped her self with one of the blankets Adam had tossed over the arm of the love seat. She then look at Adam, had couple sips of her light whiskey and said, "You never told me about that psychiatrist who had a check list for you to go through. What was the result?" Adam approached the salon slowly; he took off his sweater and sat there with his usual white tank top and sweat pants. Analyzing his whiskey’s smell and texture before sipping on it. He sat next to Kenzy and said, "How about I ask you some of those questions. Maybe I will get to know you more that way. Yeah?" Kenzy immediacy adjusted her position and said, "Shoot!" "Before I do that. We need to drink until words come out of our mouths like pure laughs, before the brain frames them and sucks the soul out of them." Adam suggested. Kenzy nodded in agreement. A few hours went by like a beautiful song. Kenzy impulsively asked Adam "How does it feel to be this drunk and still not able to kiss me? To know that I go home, and lay with another man? All for what? Your silly little head of yours and you constantly over think." " I actually feel better." he calmly said it with a deep eye contact " Is that so? Why did you invite me here for then? Getting me drunk and covered in your favourite blanket? " Kenzy asked. " Kenzy. You were like a snakes poison going through me. Leaving you was the only vaccine I had left. I brought you here to get your opinion." Adam said as he walked back to the kitchen to get more whiskey. Kenzy followed him fast and grabbed his shirt aggressively and pulled him towards her. " There are 1000 men who wish to lay in bed with me, and here I am alone, drunk in your shithole and you don’t even bother to give those looks you used to give me. You used to stare at me like a statue, then smile and look away. What is wrong with you? You can’t be that smart and foolish at the same time Adam" She argued. " We have a completely different personalities Kenz, what I’m interested in is boring to you. What interests you, I got over years ago. You haven’t moved on. Anyways, you aren’t here to talk about that. Let me ask you the questions" He defended. " I’m leaving. You don't deserve anything. Not even an opinion" Kenzy said as she proceeded to the door. With disinterest, Adam said " Alright. Shut the door behind you." She gathered her stuff. Carried her shoes instead of wearing them. Then start mumbling and yelling on her way out. She left the door open and start shouting in the hallway. Adam got up and rushed towards her. " What the hell are you doing? Either you come in or leave quietly" Kenzy then approached him with her car keys and looked him dead in the eyes smearing, " You don’t deserve to be alive. Deep inside you are polluted, nasty and pure evil wrapped in human flesh. Killing you would be my keys to heavens gates. Fuck you Adam and don’t rest in peace you mother fucker" She tried to stab him in the stomach twice but her grip wasn’t strong enough to penetrate it with the keys. She then start holding the keys in a different way to strengthen the grip while Adam kept his eyes still and his breath quiet. Kenzy punched him in the face a few times until his mouth started to bleed. " Do something you devil. You want to die don’t you? Don’t you? You piece of hell" She shouted. "In fact you do." Adam calmly wrapped his fingers in her long hair, pulled her head back and smashed her head against a concrete wall; he cracked her neck a few times and punched her in her skinny belly until he made sure there were no intact ribs left to be broken. He then wrapped her up tightly with his blanket, which fit her smaller-than-average body perfectly, and threw her from his apartment balcony down to the ground. In the salon, he looked around and examined everything slowly and smiled "Everything is better now, no one will dare to disturb this quietness anymore."
