Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate

First of all...

Linda Cardellini as Velma in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004)

This was exactly my facial expression when I realized that Linda Cardellini is not only the star of Dead To Me, but also... Scooby-Doo, Green Book, and Legally Blonde. Scooby-Doo is such a childhood movie, and it's crazy that I didn't recognise Linda Cardellini in Dead to Me!

Storyline

Poster for Dead to Me

Dead to Me is a story about two middle-aged women. The husband of one of them has recently died by being hit by a car, and the widow is trying to solve the crime. Optimistic and easy-going Judy has recently suffered an unexpected loss of her own. The women meet at a support group (which is located in probably the coolest place you've ever seen) and, despite their contrasting personalities, they become unexpectedly friends. As the women bond over bottles of wine, and telling each other life stories, Judy tries to hide a shocking secret from Jen, that could destroy her new life and friendship. The dark comedy which explores the oddly funny sides of grief, sadness, loss and forgiveness features a cast that includes well-known TV stars Christina Applegate and Ed Asner.

The show contains 10 episodes which titles are already tempting to watch them: "Pilot," "Maybe I'm Crazy," "It's All My Fault," "I Can't Go Back," "I've Gotta Get Away," "Oh My God," "I Can Handle It," "Try to Stop Me," "I Have to Be Honest," and "You Have to Go." Also, approximately 30 minutes episodes are just so convenient.

Bingeworthy

Linda Cardellini

There are not many shows that I've binge watched to be honest, but when I do, it has to be as good as Dead to Me. It starts very calmly, you don't really expect super crazy things to happen but then it just gets more and more exciting with every episode. The mix of thriller, dark comedy, and drama that will keep you in suspense.

The vibe

Still from Dead to Me

Even though the story is based on a very sad event it still makes you laugh, sometimes very hard. Jen (Christina Applegate) is sassy and unimpressed and her vibe is a perfect dark-comedy base. Judy's (Linda Cardellini) clumsy and awkward behaviour is a perfect contrast to Jen's self-confidence and sassiness. On the one hand, you want to hate Judy's character but on the other hand you can't stop loving her. Her "It's okay" line every time someone is too harsh to her is honestly mood, so relatable.

The reviews

Dead to Me

Dead to Me is currently rated 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8.2/10 on IMDB where it's trending as one of the best TV series right now, also the stars of the show Linda and Christina are both trending at the Most Popular Celebrities section. 97% of Google users liked the show. Dead to Me is now popular on Netflix for a reason! As an actor, I also have to say that the acting in the series is on a really high level. Especially, the work by Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate.

So worth watching!!!

Iconic

If this still from the series will not encourage you to watch Dead to Me, I don't know what will. The show is funny, dynamic and keeps you in suspense. Go watch it!!! Streaming now on Netflix!!!
