Who Will be the Next Green Lantern

Green Lantern is one of DC's biggest heroes. Not only is he a key member of the Justice League, but he has the ability to carry his own successful franchise and movies. Whether it is Hal Jordan, John Stewart or Guy Gardener, Green Lantern can make for a very entertaining movie franchise if done right, (ignore the old Green Lantern movie). It is no secret that a Green Lantern is coming to the big screen soon, but who will be the one to wear the ring?

Armie Hammer

Armie Hammer is very familiar with DC, due to him coming close to play Batman in a potential Justice League movie. Armie Hammer is a fan favourite choice for the role due to his strong on-screen presence in movies like Man From U.N.C.L.E and the Lone Ranger. Although he has not held a franchise of his own he definitely has the ability to do so and what better opportunity than the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal is a phenomenal actor who has more than proved his worth as an actor in action movies and comedies. Both, which require skills that are needed to play the most famous Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. For proof, look no further than Prince of Persia, South Paw and Spider-Man: Far From Home and especially End of Watch. In End of Watch Jake Gyllenhaal essentially plays a character similar to Hal Jordan, able to switch between funny and likable and serious and dutiful.

Idris Elba

Idris Elba is a favourite to star and carry many franchises so why look further than John Stewart's Green Lantern. Idris Elba has proved his worth in super hero movies such as the Thor franchise and action hits such as Pacific Rim, but he has also showed his witty humour in movies like Rock'n'Rolla. All in all Idris Elba is probably the best choice to play John Stewart in an Green Lantern adaptation.

Denzil Washington

Denzil Washington is one of the most decorated and accomplished actors to hit the big screen. To add his experience with action movies, and action-comedies make him a perfect choice for an experienced and older John Stewart. To add if the Green Lantern movie was a buddy cop type of film with John Stewart and Hal Jordan, Denzil Washington would be perfect. Some examples of how well he would do can be seen in movies like Two Guns, Book of Eli and the Equalizer.

Zac Efron

Guy Gardener is probably one of the most obnoxious superheroes ever, let alone the most obnoxious Green Lantern, but in a movie it is important that he is likable, so who better to play an obnoxious douche-bag than Zac Efron. In comedies such as Baywatch and Neighbors Zac Efron is extremely obnoxious, but also extremely likable which is something that can be very valuable in a Guy Gardener Green Lantern movie.

In Conclusion...

Whether the DC universe wants to use one Lantern or all of them, there are many choices for Green Lantern out there, even more than the ones listed. All in all the Justice League and the DC universe need a Green Lantern and with all the potential actors and various Lanterns there are many choices out there.
