I spent over a month looking forward to this Lifetime film, Trapped With My Husband, which was also known as A Killer Behind Closed Doors, a film that centered on fashion designer Melissa Crawford and her marriage to Kevin Davrow. The film quickly established that all is not what it seems, as Kevin is having an affair with a woman named Grace Jenkins, and in addition, Kevin's also planning to con Melissa out of her money. Melissa finds out about Kevin's cheating and cons and plans to divorce him, but that leads to a big problem: they have to live together in the house because Melissa can't kick him out.

Because of this, Kevin pretty much boasts about what Melissa can't do to him, while selling her art and demanding that Melissa sell her company, and continuing his affair with Grace, which has drawn scolding from her mother, Lauren Jenkins. Things later take a tragic turn, when Kevin is found dead in a wooded area, and afterwards, Melissa is interrogated and under immense suspicion. Melissa goes on her investigation, only learning that a button was found at the scene, and she later goes to the Jenkins house and asks Grace about Kevin, only to be shooed away by Lauren. Before leaving, she notices a missing button on Grace's sweater, leading to the realization that Grace killed Kevin.

Even worse for Melissa, Lauren not only knows about her daughter's murderous actions, but she gets to work on covering for Grace. Melissa's return to Grace's house saw her knocked out by the villainess, and it's followed by Lauren ordering Grace to hold Melissa at gunpoint. Lauren arrives and takes the gun, with plans to kill Melissa, only for Cameron (Melissa's co-worker) to arrive and end up another hostage. Grace confesses to killing Kevin, adding that she did so because Kevin didn't reciprocate her love for him, with a flashback revealing that Kevin fell during Grace's confrontation, but that's not what killed him. Kevin's demise was caused by Grace bludgeoning him with a rock after Kevin insulted her, and as for Lauren, she was covering for Grace as part her role as a "good mother."

Lauren and Grace's plan was to kill Melissa and set up Cameron as a jealous maniac, but the arrival of another co-worker, Mary Ann, thwarted things, as Cameron ordered her to call the police. Lauren's attempt attack was stopped by Melissa, and during the scuffle, Lauren ordered Grace to shoot Melissa. Grace's shot ends up striking and killing Lauren instead, leading to the villainess fretting over killing her mother prior to her off-screen arrest.

And now, the villainesses.

Paige Evans as Grace Jenkins

Grace Jenkins: Trapped With My Husband aired on Lifetime Movie Network on June 24, 2022, and featured a pair of wicked villainesses in the form of Grace Jenkins and her mother, Lauren Jenkins. Grace Jenkins was played Paige Evans, who was making her Lifetime movie debut with this role, and what a debut. I watched Reel One's trailer to this film a month ago, and it did give away Grace and Lauren as villainesses, as well as including this capture from Grace's villainous confession. The pic captures Grace's heel persona so brilliantly, and it also shows Evans acting out Grace's scorned and psychotic demeanor to absolute perfection. Overall, Grace Jenkins was a spectacular villainess, and it was all due to the performance of Paige Evans, who did a brilliant job acting out every facet of Grace's insanity. I truly hope we see Paige Evans in more Lifetime films!

Dawn Lambing as Lauren Jenkins

Lauren Jenkins: At times, behind one villainess is an equally evil mother who will do whatever it takes to cover for her, and that was definitely the case regarding Lauren Jenkins, who was played by Dawn Lambing. When we first see Lauren, she is often strict with Grace, but is friendly overall for Melissa. However, Lauren's demeanor suddenly changes when Melissa looks into Kevin's murder, as we see her become hostile towards Melissa and kick her out. It's later clear that Lauren knows about Grace killing Kevin, and the remainder of the film sees Lauren in full villainess mode, as she works to not only cover for Grace, but kill to do so.

Lauren Jenkins was played by Dawn Lambing, who turns heel in a Lifetime film for the first time with this role. Lambing acted out her character's friendly demeanor very well at first, and does the same when it comes to her proverbial motherly wag to Grace. Regarding Lauren's heel turn, Lambing throws herself into her character's villainous side in brilliant fashion, and really performed well when it came to Lauren's transformation from a sweet-natured mother to a potentially murderous villainess filled with venom and ruthlessness. Dawn Lambing has done three other Lifetime films: The Babysitter's Seduction, Trigger Point, and My Mom's Darkest Secrets.
