Anna is connecting the dots.

Things are now beginning to fall into place regarding the downfall of Peter August on General Hospital. On Thursday, Anna and Valentin were putting pieces of the puzzle together and not liking how it was beginning to look. They discussed how Obrecht's release, Dr. Kirk's death, Dante's actions, and Franco hearing Drew's voice were all connected. By the end of the episode, Valentin and Anna realized that Peter had lied about when he first met Drew Cain. They know now, that the memories Franco is recalling were from the days when Drew was in the service.

Maxie is weary with everyone warning her about her fiance and she is tired of defending him. The story Peter printed in the Invader has everyone believing that Franco might go psycho again. This is why Alexis tried to stab him. As Anna and Valentin continue putting the pieces together they will realize that it was Peter's intent to have people so angry and fearful that someone would murder Franco. As this storyline goes along, the duo will find out more than they were bargaining for. If he loses the support of Anna and Valentin, there will be no one in his corner but Maxie and even she is beginning to question things.

This started off with Valentin simply being a concerned father and wondering if Charlotte would be safe with Dante. Anna was only trying to help him, discretely but they got more than they bargained for. It has turned into the two people who care the most about Peter, (except for Maxie) possibly turning on him and helping to take him down. Now it makes sense why the writers flipped the script and made Alex the mother of Peter instead of Anna.

When the full truth comes out and Peter is hurt, jailed, or killed, it will not be such a harsh blow for Ms. Devane as it would have if she continued to believe he was her son. The look on Valentin's face indicated that he is angry and feels betrayed. He has been trying to support the young man whom he has been looking out for. Peter being the son of Alex and Faison is much different than his having Anna as a mother. This will make it easier for Valentin to accept the truth now that he knows he has been played.

Valentin and Anna can be more objective about Peter now that they know he has been lying. They will be able to collect clues and look at the evidence from a different perspective than they would have earlier. Obrecht wants Kevin to help Franco retrieve his Drew memories and Anna has been working with Dr. Collins to figure out what happened to Dr. Kirk. All the players are being lined up like chess pieces and Peter August will soon go down. Some spoilers have suggested that Dante might shoot him during the wedding ceremony. Others suggest that Maxie will be shot and that her baby will die.

Maxie having doubts will cause her to not be too surprised when the facts revealed about her fiance but she will still be deeply hurt. On Thursday, Britt suggested that Maxie was having doubts but Nina changed the subject and said that the three of them would stick with each other no matter what. They are going to need each other in the days to come because things are about to become messy and dangerous during February Sweep. Peter fired Dante and this has a lot of people wondering what is going on with him. Valentin and Anna are processing this bit of news as well and eventually it will all fall into place so stay tuned.
