Trisha Cast returns to The Young and the Restless

Soap Hub is reporting that a fan favorite will soon return to Genoa City when Trisha Cast comes back to The Young and the Restless. Her beloved character Nina Webster will show up early in November to visit her son Chance and her good friend Christine. Nina will come back later in the month for the show's 12,000th episode. Nina was last in town when Paul dumped her to reunite with Chris. Nina, Cricket, Danny, and Paul were a part of the golden days in Genoa City in the 1980s. Longtime Y&R fans will be excited to see Ms. Webster return but this does not address the issue of current cast members who are not getting screen time.

Nina, Danny, and Cricket

Lauren Fenmore Baldwin is about to get a boost because she will soon be working with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) who will be crossing over from The Bold and the Beautiful. Hopefully, as Sally finds her way in Genoa City, Lauren will not be placed on the sidelines again. Chloe has been on screen more since having her baby and on Thursday called for help for Chelsea who collapsed in the floor. If Chelsea is pregnant with Ada's baby this will really complicate issues. Judith Chapman returned as Gloria and spent some time with her family but Michael and Kevin still are not involved in current storylines. Paul was in one episode last week and has not been seen since.

A new character named Jordan showed up this week as a friend of Faith and she seems like she will be trouble. Fans have been discussing online that they do not want to see Faith become a wild child. They do not want the teen to get pregnant, hooked on drugs, become suicidal. All the Newman drama is beginning to affect her and her family members are not picking up the warning signs. All the adults in her life are concentrating on their own personal issues and believe Faith has got it all together, but they are wrong.

Viewers also continue to voice on social media that they desire to see more of Paul, Michael, Christine, Lauren, Chloe, and Kevin. They desire Josh Griffith to hold to his word to bring back the glory days of Genoa City. It will be nice to see Nina in Genoa City again because it will seem like old times. It will be even better if she spends time with old friends and favorite characters get more air time. Bringing Nina back for a few episodes, however, does not constitute returning Genoa City to the former days of glory. Much more would have to take place for that to happen.

Doug Davidson, (Paul) and Trisha Cast, (Nina)

It will be great to see Nina and Chance together and find out what she thinks of his dating, Abby Newman. With Nina visiting with Chris, it's certain Paul will also be on hand which will please Doug Davidson fans. Trisha Cast has had a troublesome year as her husband Bob McGrath passed away from colon cancer in October of 2019. Some viewers were wondering at that time if the actress might reprise her Y&R role and now she has even if it's only for a few episodes.

Patricia Cast was born on November 16, 1966. She portrayed Amanda Whirlitzer in The Bad News Bears in 1979. The actress has also had roles in other television series including Little House on the Prarie, Santa Barbara, Mr. Belvadere, Chicago Hope, LA Law, Desperate Lives, ER, Simon and Simon and Married with Children. She was also in the movies Puppy Love (2000), Life of Dave Fay Maloney, (2006) Shudder, (2007), The delivery (2008) and Old Habits Die Hard, 2009. She was married from 1989-2000 to Y&R composer Jack Allacco. Later in 2000, she wed Bob McGrath.

Cast began her role as Nina Webster in 1986 but in September 2000, it was announced she had requested to be released from her contract. Her publicist later issued a statement, saying that the actress had decided to leave Hollywood for a while and spend quality time with her husband in Tennessee. Trisha Cast returned to The Young and the Restless for several guest appearances along with several other former castmates in November 2008. In April 2009, Cast reprised her role as Nina for an extended period of time. She remained in a recurring position for the next three years.
