'The Young and the Restless' week of August 16 spoilers

Spoilers for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS for the week of August 1 suggest several interesting interactions between Genoa City residents. Please keep in mind these are projections and may or may not come to pass. Spoiler alerts can be spot-on or completely wrong. What is being teased for the coming week involves Nikki, Nick, Phyllis, Rey, Sally, and Adam.

Nikki makes things clear to Sally

Sally Spectra seems to fear no man and continues to get back up after being knocked down. She was recently hired by Adam to work with Chloe at Newman Media. The rumor mill says Chloe will attempt to push her boss and the new hire together romantically to try to get Adam to move on from Chelsea. As Sally is feeling triumphant because she survived everything Phyllis uncovered about her, she will find that she is facing the wrath of Nikki who will chastise her for going after Summer.

Previews show Mrs. Newman telling Sally "Well, I am very protective about the people I love, and make no mistake: My husband isn’t the only one who knows how to take matters into his own hands." Sally has shown no fear to any of the people she has wronged and recently basically told Chloe that Phyllis would pay for crossing her. Will Niki setting down the law and mentioning Victor's name make a difference? It probably will not. Ms. Spectra has made enemies of practically all the movers and shakers in Genoa City by targeting Kyle and Summer.

Rey questions Adam about Marriah

Spoilers for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS say that Rey is going to question Adam about Mariah's disappearance. His theory will be that Adam kidnapped her so that he can be her hero. Adam will insist is innocence and tell detective Rosales that he is wasting time that could be used to locate the real culprit. Rey is not thinking clearly because Adam did not stage Faith's accident or cause her to need a kidney transplant,

It's obvious that Rey is still intimidated by Adam and continues to see him as a threat. Should Sharon find out that her husband is harassing the man who saved her daughter's life which will cause problems? Adam is going to have his hands full once Victor and Nikki find out that he hired the woman who drove their granddaughter out of town.

Nick celebrates Phyllis

Nick is going to set aside a few hours one day next week to celebrate all the things about Phyllis that make him crazy. He is happy that she uncovered the truth about Tara Locke but does not like the things she did to make it happen. Phyllis stole Sally's phone and sent a text to Tara. She flew to LA and found out information from Eric Forrester and she hacked into Tara's financial records. Red did wrong things for the right reason and Nick loves her in spite of it all.

Nicholas probably also wants to get Phyllis to focus on something other than Summer because her heart is breaking. She has also been spending time with Jack who is dealing with the loss of Kyle and possibly Harrison as well. Some spoilers have suggested that the former spouses might even fall into each other's arms.
