'The Young and The Restless' Viewers Are Overwhelmingly Against Two Couple's Switching Partners

Soaps She Knows recently polled The Young and the Restless viewers regarding two popular Genoa City couples. The results indicated that fans do not desire change where these characters are concerned. There were only 22 percent were looking forward to Kyle and Summer reconnecting and Theo ending up with Lola. A whopping 73 percent are against the couples switching partners, four percent don't care and 1 percent was undecided. Many viewers have expressed that they don’t understand why Kola was put together only to be broken up.

The same questioned was asked after Kyle married Summer, then dumped her for Lola. The rumor mill suggests former CBS Vice President of daytime Angelica McDaniel was not a fan of Skyle, but now that she has retired the writers are trying to put them back together. There is also the fact that Mal Young brought the Rosales family to Genoa City and put Kyle and Lola together. Josh Griffith was hired as head writer after Young was let go, so this would explain some things.

Viewers who believe Kyle belongs with his wife are having a hard time watching Kola be pulled apart. They are especially troubled by the fact that Lola might cheat with Theo. The poll is only representative of a selection of Y&R viewers. There are others who want Kyle and Summer together. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. The fans are tired of all the back and forth but Theo broke up with Summer. Last week Skyle pulled an all nighter at the Jabot office while Theo was at Society sampling Lola’s food. It’s clear that Mr. Vanderway seems interested in his cousin’s wife but his intentions are not yet obvious.

Theo tried to break up Kyle and Lola and even brought Zoe to town in an attempt to stop the wedding. Lola is still in the dark about the details so this could pose a problem if the truth is revealed. When Summer did a video chat to get Lola to ask her husband to go home, Kyle was troubled. He saw his new cousin in the background at Society and did not seem to care that his wife could not leave work. When Summer tried to get him to go home, Kyle responded that he was right where he wanted to be.

Everyone believes Summer was only dating Theo in order to make Kyle jealous, but Mr. Vanderway may have been sleeping with her because Skyle were once married. He still may be holding a grudge and could do something at Jabot to cause a lot of trouble. Now it looks as if Theo may be developing feelings for Lola but she does not seem the type to cheat on her husband. It's more likely that Kyle will make a move on Summer during one of those late nights.

Whatever is in store for these characters, it seems the fans, thus far do not want Kyle to get back with Summer. Kola is cute together but Skyle have more history and a stronger connection. It will be interesting to see if The Young and the Restless heeds the voice of the fans, or continues taking the characters in the direction in which they are now headed. It's also possible that more viewers may begin to warm up to Kyle and Summer and this could be reflected in a new poll. Stay tuned week day afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST.
