The Young and the Restless veteran Tracey E Bregman celebrates a milestone

Tracey E Bregman portrays the beautiful and classy Lauren Fenmore Baldwin on The Young and the Restless. The actress celebrated her 57th birthday on May 29, but looks half her age. Her first soap role was as Donna Temple Craig on Days of Our Lives, on NBC. She was the daughter of Don Craig and Marlena Evans’s was her stepmom. She later was in the movies The Concrete Jungle, and Happy Birthday to Me. Tracey joined the cast of Y&R in 1983 and in 1985 won an award for Outstanding Ingenue. She remained with the show until 1995 at which time her character crossed over to CBS sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful. Bregman remained on B&B until 1999 and in 2001 returned to The Young and the Restless and continues to be a favorite of the viewers.

In recent years The Young and the Restless has not utilized Bregman as in years past. She was front and center when Phyllis took over Jabot and ran the Abbott family business with Lauren and Kerry. Within the past year, however, Jack decided that his son Kyle and Lauren would be co-COO's of his family legacy, but Ms. Fenmore Baldwin was never involved in any of the day to day action. She was spoken of in name only and did not have one scene where she was in the Jabot office, making any decisions. After a few weeks, Jack decided to let Kyle become his c0-CEO and todl his son to notify Lauren, and nothing more was said. . Fans have been complaining about how veteran actors are being shelved in Genoa City. Very rarely are the Baldwins, the Fishers, or Paul and Chris Williams seen in any meaningful storylines.

Viewers love Michael and Lauren and have stated on social media that they desire to see more of this popular couple, but the powers that be seem to have other ideas. The Baldwins were going to work together to take down Adam once Michael was named the new DA, but nothing more has been said. It was announced on Twitter that on Thursday June 4, The Young and the Restless will air a classic episode where Lauren deals with crazy Sheila,(Kikmberlain Brown). Each woman has been on both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

In addition to not being used on the CBS daytime drama, Tracey Bregman lost her home last year during the California wildfires. Her devoted followers offered support and condolences via social media and continue to wait to see Lauren in a front burner storyline in Genoa City. When the CBS daytime drama went on hiatus, Michael and his wife were not a part of any of the current storyline. Fans are hoping that during the hiatus the writers may rethink some things and begin utilizing the veterans of the show. Soaps She Knows reported last week that actors over age 65 probably will not be on screen for a while. This would include Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman, and Marla Adams. Melody Thomas Scott is 64, so it's not known whether or not she will make the cut.

Jess Walton is 71 and Kate Linder is 72, but neither of them is on screen much anyway. Michael, Lauren, Paul, Kevin, and Chloe, may have to be written into the storyline on a regular basis to make up for the lack of the other actors. Soap Opera Digest has a photo gallery in honor of Tracey Bregman's 57th birthday. Christian LeBlanc and his TV wife were on Let's Make a Deal last week and fans enjoyed seeing them together. What is needed however is for the writers to give the duo storylines worthy of their talents. Josh Griffith promised to bring back the glory days in Genoa City but at this time everything seems to be one big mess.

There is one thing that viewers know will take place when The Young and the Restless resumes taping. It's time for Chloe to give birth to her son, so Esther, Michael and Lauren will probably be there for her and Kevin. Soap Dirt says the CBS daytime drama may begin taping new episodes sometime in June. It's been said that it takes about six weeks for an episode to show up on the air, so Chloe will probably give birth sometime in August or September.
