There is breaking news for fans of The Young and the Restless, regarding upcoming scheduling. It looks like the CBS daytime drama is getting close to running out of new episodes. The popular Soap opera usually tapes four to six weeks ahead of time, but shut down production on March 17 because of the coronavirus. It was announced initially, that the hiatus would be for two weeks, but clearly that has changed and more time is necessary because of guidelines from, the White House. There is no need, however, for loyal fans to panic because the powers that be have a contingency plan for the action in Genoa City.

According to Soap Dirt, Traci E Bregman, who portrays Lauren Fenmore Baldwin recently announced some insider information that fans will find useful. The veteran actress said that if things get to the point where action needs to be taken, they will still be able to view The Young and the Restless daily without interruption. There will be a change, however, regarding what fans will be watching. There will be new programming on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. but classic Y&R episodes will air on Thursday and Friday. This will allow time to spread things out for a few more weeks to take into account the Covid-19 situation.

Coronavirus affects daytime programming.

The Young and the Restless is taking into account that many localities are sheltering in place until April 15. The CBS daytime drama has enough new episodes to last until April 24. If the cast and crew went back to work at this point, everything would work itself out. Soap Dirt indicates that the latest TV Guide listing has new Y&R episodes Monday-Wednesday this week with no information for Thursday and Friday. The spoiler says this could be a red flag that CBS is already launching the new plan so tune in Thursday and Friday to find out. There is also no indication of what is meant by classic episodes or how far back The Young and the Restless plans to go when airing older programming.

Bill causes problems for Victor and Victoria

Longtime Y&R viewers would enjoy episodes that go back to the days when Katherine Chancellor was on the CBS soap, but will have to wait and see if this is necessary and what the producers decide to air. Currently the Newmans and Abbotts are center stage with drama all around them, Victor and Jack have made a truce of sorts with each other but are continuing to deal with separate issues regarding their respective families. Victor recently berated Billy because Victoria is having emotional issues and trying to stay one step ahead of Adam who is attempting to blackmail him. Jack is trying to keep Kyle and Theo from hurting each other and also dealing with his mother's declining health.

Jack must deal with Theo and Dina.

Soap Dirt teases that Theo will visit Dina and his uncle will give him another warning about trying to get under Kyle's skin. Shortly after this Kendra will call, saying she dug up dirt on Kyle but Theo will indicate that she should put it on hold for now. This might confuse Kyle's assistant and who knows what she will do. Spoilers also say that Theo's plan to take down his cousin will backfire, so it sounds like Mr. Vanderway is the one who will end up in hot water. It's looking like these are Dina's final days but The Young and the Restless has not announced if her character will die, or simply lose all memory of her loved ones. Marla Adams has done an excellent job portraying her character as an Alzheimer's patient and viewers will hate to see her written out of the show.

Victor will ll crush Adam again.

Theo Vanderway is not the only one whose plan to hurt a loved one will go belly up. Soap Dirt and Celeb Dirty Laundry both say that Adam will soon be sorry he and Chelsea began snooping in Kansas. The prodigal Newman will believe his father murdered AJ who was the dad of his childhood friend Alyssa, Soap Dirt and Celeb Dirty Laundry both suggest that when the truth comes out Adam will be devastated and need to lean on Chelsea. The spoilers as well as many fans of The Young and the Restless believe it was Adam's mom Hope who killed AJ and that Victor has been covering up for her all these years. Hope being the murderer would be the only logical conclusion since the truth will send Adam off the deep end.

Be sure to keep the possible changes to The Young and the Restless schedule in mind. Tune in each day at 12:30 PM EST to find out what happens next. Continue watching for spoiler alerts to find out what will happen in advance, and be aware of possible interruptions from local, state, and national news sources with information regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. Let's hope that in no time at all life will resume to some form of normality, The Young and the Restless resumes it's schedule and your favorite Genoa City characters will be back on schedule, wreaking havoc as always.
