'The Young and the Restless' face-off with Victor and Adam finally happens

Daytime drama shows are making adjustments to their scheduling due to the Covid- 19 pandemic. The Young and the Restless is now airing new episodes only on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. They will have reruns of classic programming each Thursday and Friday. On Friday April 3, the CBS soap aired a repeat of Victor and Nikki’s first wedding. This process will continue for as long as the shelter in place continues. Coming up on Monday, April 6, Adam finally believes he has his dad right where he wants him. Victor’s youngest son seems to believe trying to play hard ball and be as ruthless as his father will gain him whatever he wants. Adam has actually told his dad that he is the child most like the family patriarch.

The two men are in the Newman offices on Monday’s episode, with Victoria standing near as they discuss the situation at hand. The prodigal son announces to his sister that their father killed a man and covered up the murder. Vicki seems not to be phased by this responds with, "Is that all?” Adam goes on to say that he wants "all of this" referring to Newman Enterprises and tells his sister that when he is in charge she will have to go. He is smug and over confident and his father plays along. Victor even tells his son that he learned from the best, referring to himself. The bottom line of all of this seems to be that Adam wants to prove he is his father’s son. He believed Nick and Victoria are treated better than himself and Abby, because they are Nikki’s children.

Adam and Chelsea have been gunning for Victor ever since he allowed Nick to take over the family business when Victoria was recuperating. Chaddam have been plotting for weeks to expose Victor because they believe the Newman patriarch murdered a loan shark named AJ. It’s believed that Hope and Clint may have defaulted on a loan and AJ was behind the accident that took the life of Adam's stepfather. The hypothesis seems to be that AJ did not accidentally fall from a barn loft and that Victor pushed him in a revenge plot. Several spoilers have been saying that Adam's plan is going to blow up in his face and that in the aftermath he will need to lean on Chelsea. A number of viewers, along with a few spoilers alerts suggest that it was Adam's mom who was the murderer and not his father.

This would make more sense that Victor would be covering for the mother of his son, rather than being a murderer himself . The bad boy Newman never even consider this, neither did he nor Chelsea even look into any other possibilities. They were so preoccupied with taking down his father that both of them forgot the golden Newman rule. Victor always has an ace up his sleeve and always comes out on top.

Every time Adam has attempted to put his father in check, dear old dad ends up saying "check mate." Both he and Chelsea are delusional and about to find out that they are no match for the mustache. At the end of Monday's episode, Adam tells his father not to take too long before deciding whether or not to accept his terms. After Adam leaves, Victor says to Victoria that he has something to tell her. It may appear as if the most powerful man in Genoa City is about to confess, but he is probably going to tell his daughter what really happened all those years ago in Kansas. If it is as many suspect, and Hope was the true murderer, Adam will be destroyed.

Adam has always viewed his mother as a saint and his father as an evil genius. He considers himself an outsider yet does more to keep distance than he does to bridge the gap. Viewers will be glad to see him get his comeuppance but know it won’t last. Adam may be devastated and in shock for a season, but it’s difficult to have sympathy for this man. Everyone knows that eventually he will be back to business as usual. He will devise another scheme, his dad will allow him to think he is winning, then crush him.
