Congratulations Peter Bergman

The Young and the Restless will soon three decades of Peter Bergman portraying Jack Abbott. A special tribute and look back over 30 year is scheduled for Monday November 25, but may be delayed due to the Impeachment hearings. The photo that was tweeted by Laura Lee Bell, shows Nikki between Jack and Victor, which is where she has actually spent most of her time. Last week, Jack Abbott was at the Newman Ranch working with Nikki on Nick's campaign. Victor was sitting just a few feet away from them which shows how far this trio has come. Phyllis continues to be angry and seeking revenge because Victor kidnapped Jack, and replaced him with Marco. Adam told her to let go of her vendetta but she refused.

There have been many changes, in Genoa City since this group posed fo a photo. Just to name a few, Jerry Douglas retired, while Kristoff St. John and Jeannie Cooper passed away. Many of the others are no longer on the CBS daytime drama, but Peter Bergman,(Jack) Jess Waton, (Jill) Eric Braeden,(Victor) and Melody Thomas Scott,(Nikki) remain front and center on The Young and the Restless. Eileen Davidson, (Ashley) is on recurring status. Peter Bergman came to Genoa City in November 1989. He had just been released from All My Children when Melody Thomas Scott told her husband about the actor. Edward Scott was the executive producer of The Young and the Restless at the time. He listened to his wife and here we are 30 years later.

Jack came to Genoa City when the Abbott family had lost the family company and Victor was in control. This set the stage for three decades of rivalry that has just begin to subside due to Neil Winters' death. The two men actually had a drink together and have been playing nice ever since. Victor recently turned the reigns of Newman Enterprises over to his daughter Victoria. Jack stepped away from Jabot in order to write his family memoirs and made Billy and Kyle Co-CEO's. Nothing has been stated about the future of either man, but retirement somehow just does not seem real for either one of them.

Peter Bergman has said that he has enjoyed portraying Jack for 30 years and is in awe of the enduring friendships he has made at YR. Soap Hub quotes him as stating that he is deeply grateful to the fans, who have "stood by Jack, cheered him on, or waited patiently for him to get his act together …for three decades!" The actor says he is truly thankful, amazed and happy, then added that it "sure feels good." He expressed his thanks to one and all who have been supportive over the many years.

On Tuesday's episode of The Young and the Restless Billy announced that he is walking away from Jabot and leaving the company to Kyle to run all alone and said he could not wait to tell his nephew the good news. Nothing is ever the way it seems and change is constant in Genoa City. By Thanksgiving both Kyle and Billy could see their world's turned upside down and be in situations they never imagined. It's always possible that Jack will reclaim the helm of his father's company and bring Theo aboard which will infuriate his son. It's also time that Jack finds love again after the fiasco with Kerry.

Fans of The Young and the Restless are excited for Peter Bergman's three decades on the show, and can't wait to see what he is up to next. There is always the chance that Victor and Jack will find a reason to break their truce. It's always fun to watch these two men going at it with each other. Be sure to tune in weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST to catch all the Genoa City excitement. Remember that episodes may be delayed a day or two because of the impeachment proceedings.
