Susan Batten joins the cast of General Hospital
The soap vet will be in scenes with Sasha that are related to Deception.
Susan Batten returns to daytime
Soap Opera Digest is reporting that soap opera veteran Susan Batten will make a return to daytime and appear on ABC's General Hospital the week of June 27 through July 1. The date of June is 30th being specifically mentioned. Daytime viewers may recall the actress portrayed Luna Moody on One Life to Live from 1991-95 and returned multiple times as a ghost in subsequent years. Luna believed in the supernatural, crystals, and auras and she died after being shot in the stomach during a gang war.
Batten was born on September 21, 1961, and has been married to Truit Bell since 1998. In addition to acting, she is also a writer and producer. She began her daytime career as Lolly on ABC's All My Children during the 1980s and also played Connor Walsh from 1997 to 1998 on the CBS soap As the World Turns.
She appeared in the indie film The Same Storm in 2021 and in 2016 wrote and produced the film Showing Roots starring Elizabeth McGovern, Cicely Tyson, Maggie Grace, Uzo Aduba, and Adam Broady. Some sources say she also starred in the film. She also co-wrote Love, Once and Always for the Hallmark Channel.

Suaan graduated from the North Carolina School Of The Arts and Columbia University Film School. She earned her MFA from Columbia University School Of The Arts in screenwriting and directing, and was also the recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship. In New York City, Susan was a member of The Edge Theatre company and Off-Broadway, she co-starred with Julie Harris in The Fiery Furnace.
On General Hospital Batten will portray home-shopping star Flora Gardens. The actress told Soap Opeta Digest that she has remained friends with Frank Valentini who had been the One Life To Live executive producer when she was on the show and now has the same position with GH. Batten says she told Valentini that she misses acting and the energy of being “a part of a collaboration of actors”.
She added that she wanted to be on a soap again and asked her friend to call her if anything became available. Valentini called her and they discussed the character of Flora Gardens and Batten accepted. Roger Howarth (Austin Holt) and Michael Easton ( Hamilton Finn) are also former cast members of One Life to Live who are currently on General Hospital.
Flora Gardens meets Sasha Gilmore
Batten's character should be appearing this week during the episodes with another soap vet Morgan Fairchild. Lomgtime soap fans will recall that Fairchild portrayed Jennifer Pace on Search for Tomorrow on CBS during the 1970s.
On General Hospital Sasha Gilmore ( Sofia Mattisson) will appear with Home and Heart channel shopping hostess Haven de Havilland (Fairchild) when Sasha appears on the program to promote Deception’s products. Fans will be watching to see if Sasha stays clean or uses drugs again and messes things up.
The names Haven de Haveland anf Flora Gardens and alone suggest that General Hospital fans are in for some humerous moments. It's not yet known whether or not this is a one time deal for Batten or if it will turn into something more. but the actress says she really enjoyed filming her acenes.
While talking to Soap Opera Digest Batten said the following “It was just so much fun and I valued the whole experience.” If Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is anywhere around and joins in it will be hilarious. sure to tune inthis week to see Batten and Fairchild and comtinue watching for General Hospital spoilers and updates.
