Steve Burton updates fans

Soaps in Depth just released a startling announcement from soap veteran Steve Burton. Kudos to the actor for getting out in front of what has to be an emotional, painful and embarrassing situation. Burton revealed that he and his wife Sheree have separated after 23 years of marriage and three children. People and other news outlets are reporting the same information.

Steve has gone on record as stating that Sheree is expecting a 4th child that does not belong to him. He has been quoted as saying the following;

"The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time.

Fans should take note of what Burton did not say before running with misinformation. The actor did not indicate whether or not his wife cheated on him and if the pregnancy led to the separation or if they were separated prior to her becoming pregnant.

Fans and spoilers will put their own spin on the situation

It’s easy to assume that Sheree was unfaithful and a DNA test revealed her husband is not the baby's father. The couple also could have been living apart for a while and keeping their business private. Sheree may have moved on with another relationship and when she announced the pregnancy some people assumed Steve was the dad because no one knew they were not together.

Overzealous fans, as well as soap spoilers, will put their own spin on things but whatever the situation Burton now has been forced to address this difficult issue publicly. Because he is a public figure he decided to give his truth before the rumors began. . Entertainers are human and have trials and tribulations just like everyone else. Unfortunately, their every move is being watched, and therefore the privacy Steve asked for will not come to pass as he desires.

Burton is a famous soap star who is loved by millions of loyal fans. Social media being the animal that it is there will no doubt be some followers who will begin trashing Sheree and trolling her. Fans would do well to remember that this is real life and not a soap opera and that Steve is not Stone Cold Jason Morgan who is a fictional character. Some news outlets will report the information responsibly simply to share what the actor has said. Others will say whatever gains readers.

Steve Burton deserves time to heal

The fact that Burton is asking for privacy indicates that this must be painful and in a perfect world, his desire would be granted. Steve has been in the news since last year when he was fired from General Hospital for refusing to get the COVID vaccine. GH fans were devastated and hoping somehow he might return as Jason Morgan.

Burton's followers were happy to hear that he has joined the cast of the Peacock series Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem 2 which premieres on July 11. Some fans are even wondering if he might obtain a regular role on the NBC soap. The actor had a small role on DOOL in the 1970s and also portrayed Dillion Macavoy on The Young and the Restless.

Followers from all three soaps will want to see him in action which will naturally increase the ratings of the Peacock series. Hopefully, Steve and his family can deal with this situation without people prying or spreading fake news and be allowed as much privacy as possible. The actor needs time to heal and those who truly respect will allow all the time that is necessary.
