Sonny, Carly, Jax Triangle Is Heating up on 'General Hospital'

The dynamic between these three is hilarious but has the potential to turn dangerous

Carly is always in the middle between Jax and Sonny

During the General Hospital Thanksgiving episode, Jax showed up uninvited to Sonny and Carly’s home. He claimed to be looking for his daughter who happened to be out with friends. As usual the two men were tongue in cheek and sarcastic with each other while the woman they both love is always being their referee. When Sonny left because Kristina called him to come to the hospital, Carly tried to reason with her ex. She told him that if her husband ever finds out that Nikolas is alive and staying at Jasper’s house the fur will fly.

Jax seemed to take it all in stride but he is loving the fact that he has a secret with Sonny’s wife. Now that Donna has been born and her life is no longer in danger, Joslyn’s dad may decide not to play nice once again. This situation could even put him back together with his daughter’s mother. “Carlson” has been getting along pretty good lately with all things considered. On Tuesday, Curtis Ashford stopped Sonny at General Hospital and asked how he kept his marriage so strong. Mr. Corinthos replied that keeping secrets is what hurts.

This could be a signal that when the Nikolas Cassadine bomb drops, Sonny will be livid that his spouse kept such a big secret, especially since she was in cahoots with his sworn enemy. Jax loves pushing Sonny’s buttons but has promised to keep the truth about Dev to himself. Even so, after Nick reveals himself, Joss, her mom and Donna might all end up living in her dad’s new home.

The stress of Mike Corbin declining from Alzheimer’s disease, the pressure of pretending Dev is his relative and dealing with Jax at the same time may be too much for Sonny to handle. Throw in Kristina’s mom being attacked, Lucas and Brad’s accident and the Wiley/Noah reveal coming and there will be problems galore. Perry Shen is leaving General Hospital and it’s being hinted that he might die. This will bring Nelle into the picture and the Corinthos family will find their cup running over.

Daytime drama programs never allow couples to remain happy for long so “Carson” is due for some upheaval. These two have been together for decades off and on and now have been married four times. It would be nice if General Hospital allowed them to remain together and be an inspiration as Edward and Lila Quartermaine were. There actually are no stable older couples on any of the remaining soaps except for Victor and Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless who are on their fifth try at matrimony.

Jax enjoys goading Sonny because he believes the coffee merchant is nothing more than a thug. He hates the lifestyle Sonny and Jason carved out for themselves and the danger it puts their loved ones in. Jax detests that Carly and his daughter are caught up in all the mess and that Donna is now a part of it all. If he could whisk them all away and keep them safe from Sonny and all his drama, Jasper would do it in a heartbeat. Carly will always be the one who got away and you can see it every time her ex looks at her.

Jax showing up uninvited and snipping and snapping at Sonny every chance he gets speaks volumes. Harboring Nikolas may turn out to benefit him, however, in ways he did not imagine. Carly will eventually tire of being in the middle of her current and former husband. With a new baby she may become exasperated at trying to referee two grown men who act like children. She is however sharing an explosive secret with Jax that will rock Sonny to the core when he finds out. Unfortunately Carly has children with both men so no matter which one she choose or even if she finds a new love, she will always be in the triangle with a Sonny and Jax on opposite sides.
