One of my favourite television series that on TV right now is The Flash. This tracks the life and responsibilities of one man, Mr Bartholomew "Barry" Henry Allen.

In the first few episodes of season 1 we see what Barry's life is like as a Crime Scene Investigator for the Central City Police Department. He is always late to a crime scene but he makes up for it with his brain. Its safe to say that no other person could do a better job than him. When Barry was 11 years old, his mother was killed by "the impossible". Little did he know that later on in the episode he would also become "the impossible. His father, Henry Allen, was framed for the murder and therefore sent to prison. When his father was sent to prison, Barry went to go and live with Joe West and his daughter, Joe and Iris West.

One day, Barry is working in his lab doing fingerprint analysis when he hears an explosion from outside. He looks out of the window and sees the Particle Accelerator at STAR Labs explode. A wave of dark matter particles beam throughout the city and while closing the skylight, Barry is struck by lightning. He is now the impossible.

After spending 9 months in a coma, he awakens to find himself in STAR Labs under the watchful eye of genius and creator of STAR Labs, Dr. Harrison Wells. Cisco Ramone and Caitlin Snow (employees at STAR Labs) attend to Mr Allen as he adjusts to life again. After getting an update about what the past few months have brought and what happens to the city, Barry has only one thought on his mind... Seeing his best friend/crush, Iris West. He goes to the coffee shop where she works. She is utterly blindsided by seeing him as he's been in a coma for around 9 months. She drops the tray full of coffee mugs and runs over to Barry. After a heartfelt hug and walk through surrounding areas of the coffee shop, a car skids of course and heads uncontrollably at Iris and Barry. A sudden rush comes over Barry's body and runs to the side of the road about 20 metre away, in the blink of an eye. Iris cannot believe it. He just saved the woman he's loved for the past 10 years. He goes back to STAR labs to get some answers but all Dr. Wells could say is that " his body was still recovering from the coma and their might be side effects.

When Barry finally notices he has super speed. Cisco Ramone is delighted as he geeks out and makes him a suit made from the material used in firefighters' suits. At first, he is called the Scarlet Speedster but later hints the name to Iris and eventually, he becomes THE FLASH!!

During this series, you see the life that Barry now leads and how difficult it is for him to keep the secret from Joe, Iris and most importantly, his father.

It soon becomes apparent that during the particle accelerator explosion, it didn't just effect Mr Allen, but quite a few civilians too. These civilians used their power for evil... Not for good as Barry did. With the help of Dr. Wells, Barry defeats and safely locks up every meta human in special designed holding cells in STAR Labs. Dr Wells, the team and Barry became closer and were beginning to all become very good friends.

He speeds into action take down loads of Meta-Humans like The Mist, Clyde Mardon , Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Mick Rory/Heatwave , /Tony Woodward/Girder, Roy G. Bivolo/Rainbow Raider, Lisa Snart/Golden Glider , Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper, Shawna Baez/Peek-a-Boo, Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard . Half way through the series we see Barry show down against a man in a yellow suit that would be later identified as the Reverse Flash. He was responsible for his mothers murder.

After a fight with the yellow-suited man, he runs back to STAR Labs and tells the team about this man. He was the man who killed his mother but he found that impossible as meta humans were just created less than a year ago and his mother was murders 14 years prior to this moment. This began the thrilling journey of Barry defending the city against these metas and finding a way to track down this masked man.

With guest appearances from the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow and Felicity Smoak from Starling City, this season also sees Barry's struggles with Iris and her new boyfriend, Detective Eddie Thawne (Joes partner... in crime, if you will... Lol). Even though I knew that Barry and Iris end up together after reading the comics, it was still very heart-breaking and I really felt sad for Barry. There is on the one hand a meta who is not a supervillain. They call him F.I.R.E.S.T.OR.M, a merge of Professor Martin Stein and Ronnie Raymond, who was presumed dead after he was trapped in the pipeline when the accelerator exploded. The two people merged and in the final battles with Reverse Flash, they became a true and faithful ally.

Three quarters of the way through the season, the man in the yellow is revealed. It is... Dr Harrison Wells. Even though through the series, he has been portrayed as a paralyzed man in a wheelchair, this was all a fasade. There has been a few hints through the series and some of you may be already able to tell who it was if you read the comics. The last two episode are a thrilling game of Catch Me If You Can. Dr Wells knows full well that he has been made and for now, he is on the run and in hiding.

In the final few scene, the fight begins. Dr Wells reveals himself to be called Eobard Thawne. He's from 365 years in the future. He then reveals that he killed Barry's mother, Nora, all because he hated Barry Allen and wanted him dead. He knew the only way to do this was for him to suffer a tragedy so massive that he would never become The Flash. On the night of his mothers murder, it is revealed that after Eobard and future Barry fought in younger Barry's house, Future Flash got away. While chasing The Flash, Eobard lost the ability to harness his speed. Stuck in that point in time, he could not go back to the future. He has to create a new Flash and get him to help and get back to his time. For 14 years Eobard Thawne has been disguised in Harrisons Wells' body. He reveals that he has a plan that can help the both of them. If Barry was to get Thawne back to his time, that same portal could also go to the past and he could save his mother from being murdered

Unless Barry got back to present day within two minutes of entering the portal then the wormhole would become unstable and a giant wormhole could for and swallow all of Central City. After a failed attempt at saving his mother, he jumps back through the portal and destroys the only way for Eobard to go home. After an epic speedster fight inside the pipeline of the building, a gunshot is heard. Eddie Thawne kills himself. Its known that if Eddie were to kill himself then Eobard Thawne would never have existed. He would be erased from the timeline.

After everyone thought it was over. An earthquake is felt throughout the city. The wormhole becomes unstable and begins to grow. Over Central City, this giant phenomenon was about to swallow the city. Professor Stein had an idea that if he and Ronnie were to separate in the eye of the wormhole, then the energy blast should counteract the motion and it would stop. They flew into the eye of the storm and separated

** Run theme music**

I hate cliff-hangers as much as the next person but this one just seemed very unfair for me. I love the Flash and I hope you guys do too

Till the next time!! Xx
