General Hospital fans want Shawn back in Port Charles

Sean Blakemore joined the cast of General Hospital in 2011 as Shawn Butler and quickly became a popular character. He has been a love interest for Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). He is also the biological father of Jordan's son TJ Ashford (Taj Bellow) so he has ties that bind in the area. Shawn also once worked side by side with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) doing mob business for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and also did a few things on his own.

The actor left the soap a few years ago for other roles, unlike some soap actors who have returned because they could not find other roles Blakemore has been successful. was prominent on series on TVOne and BET like The Game and network series like Cold Case, Bones, and NCIS. Lately, some General Hospital fans have said they hope Butler will return to Port Charles because he is needed. Some viewers have been saying that Jordan and Shawn could reunite but that does not seem likely to happen at least anytime soon.

Jordan recently pulled the plug on the possibility of getting back together with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) whom she has been hoping to reunite with for 2 years. On Monday she was hanging out at the Port Charles pool with Portia Robinson's (Brooke Kerr) brother Zeke Robinson ( Gavin Houston). Spoilers tease that she and Zeke might hook up but her heart still belongs to her husband and at this time Shawn would be a big distraction.

Sean Blakemore has a new project

If he returned to Port Charles Butler could give moral support to TJ whose girlfriend Molly Davis is having trouble conceiving a baby. Shawn would also be appreciated at this time because Sonny has an unknown enemy that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyeal Grey) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth are working for. Some GH viewers believe it is Selina Wu (Lydia Look) who seems like she is trying to take over PC but unfortunately, Blakemore is not available to return as Shawn at this time because the actor is otherwise engaged.

“I love projects that focus on character development because with character development you have better story,” Blakemore told People. “And with this, because it’s a mystery, there’s so many twists, and makes you have a great story, it makes you more invested, and that’s the ride. That’s what you want. You want people to be invested. You want them to go along the process and you want to affect them.”

Soaps in Depth says Blakemore is now portraying Sherrif Jack Meyer in season 2 of Cruel Summer on Freeform. This is a teen mystery series anthology, which means that season two is a completely separate story with new characters that were not a part of season one and they are navigating a new murder. Season 2 began on June 5 and because it is an anthology you can enjoy it without having to consider watching season one first to figure things out and catch up to date.

Set in the idyllic waterfront town of Chatham, CRUEL SUMMER season two follows Megan, Isabella, and Luke as they navigate their complicated relationships as a tragedy turns the community upside down.

Be on the lookout for additional news related to Sean Blakemore and his current television series as well as spoilers related to Sean Butler's possible return to GH. They could always recast the role but thus far whenever Blakemore is available he has reprised the character he originated. Keep tuning in to General Hospital to find out what happens next.
