Sean and Tiffany

Sean Donley and Tiffany Hill were never a GENERAL HOSPITAL super couple but they were beloved fan favorites while on the ABC soap from 1988-1995, and again in 2008. On Friday, May 21, GH will air a tribute to the late John Reilly who portrayed WSB agent Sean Donely(Sometimes spelled Donnelley). Executive producer Frank Valentini says he never had the pleasure of working with Reilly and Sharon Wyatt who portrayed the couple but he enjoyed watching them prior to his working on the soap. The couple went through a lot and put each other through much pain but they persevered and rode off into the sunset together.

Their story begins with Sean who had been Robert Scorpio's boss with the WSB prior to his retirement. Boredom set in when he was no longer working and led Donley to Port Charles. In order to challenge himself, he decided his game plan would be to outwit another WSB agent. Sean chose Robert Scorpio as a worthy opponent and the adventure began. Donely kidnapped some of Scorpio's family members and when he thought he had actually murdered his old pal he became distraught. Robert eventually turned up alive and the two worked on repairing their relationship.

Tiffany Hill was a beautiful B-movie actress who met Robert Scorpio along with Luke and Laura Spencer in Greece when they were trying to take down the Cassadines. At that time Tiffany was involved in a romantic relationship with Mikkos Cassadine. When Luke Spencer and Robert Scorpio told her of Mikkos' dastardly plan to freeze the world Tiffany helped them, to stop him in his tracks. Laura and Tiffany bonded instantly and became very good friends and down the road, Tiffany was named godmother to Luke and Laura's daughter Lulu.

Ms. Wyatt soon traveled to Port Charles and began a relationship with Dr. Noah Drake. She later had a brief affair with Robert Scorpio and her next PC lover was Alan Quartermaine whose wife Monica was having an affair with Sean Donley. After some time and broken hearts along the way Sean and Tiffany fell in love and married in 1988. During the nuptials, at the Quartermaine mansion, Sean found out that his bride's real name was Elsie Mae Crumholz. This got a big laugh from everyone but the wedding went on as planned.

Sean and Tiffany had many trials which included fighting for custody of Lucas Jones who was the son of Tiffany's late sister Cheryl and Julian Jerome. Tony Jones and his wife nurse Bobbie Spencer were raising the little boy and eventually adopted him. Bobbie kept mum when she realized that Lucas was Cheryl's son but the truth eventually came out. The custody battle caused Tiffany a lot of stress and she miscarried the baby she was going to have with Sean.

Tiffany found out that Sean was having an affair with a woman named Jessica and had gotten her pregnant. This was a shocker and Tiffany almost took her own life. When Jessica was murdered, Sean confessed because he thought his wife was guilty. Later, Mac and Felicia Scorpio realized that serial killer Ryan Chamberlain was guilty of the crime. Sean and Tiffany found their way back to each other and before leaving Port Charles shared the good news that they were expecting another baby.

Their daughter Annie was born and was named for Anna Devane who became the child's godmother. Sean and Tiffany returned to Port Charles in 2008 on GENERAL HOSPITAL NIGHT SHIFT to visit their friend Robert Scorpio who was ill at the time. Annie will be on hand during the tribute episode and will be portrayed by John Reilly's real-life daughter Caitlin. Be sure to tune in Friday to watch the mystery unfold once Anna finds out that her old friend has passed away and she heads to Ireland.
