Scream 6 is a long-awaited premiere

Scream 6 reveals a great job by directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin who have managed to combine classic features of the original story and at the same time makes reference to the previous films in the saga, making it most entertaining.

Scream 6 follows the survivors of the deadly attacks of serial killer Ghostface. Sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter (Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega) are part of this group, but they decided to leave Woodsboro to start a new life in New York. Little by little, the villain of the story will find a way to get close to them and torment them to the point of reliving the trauma they experienced in the past. Ghostface has a plan to kill them all, following the tradition of the first assassin. A series of murders will begin to be discovered in the impressive metropolis, so he will once again start a chase to satisfy his killer instinct. Potential victims will not be safe at any place or time, even if they try.

Scream 6 puts a new twist on the saga and becomes more violent and heinous than ever, taking this story to a new level of horror.

The bloodiest and most satisfying version

Scream 6 is shaping up to be the bloodiest and most satisfying version of the entire saga, something fans of the slasher genre will love. The script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick is snappy and dynamic. The advantage of this film over the previous one is that the small changes to the saga, such as the move to New York, are positive. Any element that helps to abandon the comfort of an established script is welcome, especially after a reboot that played at recreating moments from the original as an inside joke.

Scream 6 has too many characters rescued from other sequels and lack of new motivations of the villains, as it would be convenient to change some phrases and some actions. However, the movie is very entertaining, although it has moments that are longer than necessary, but it is still a product created to please fans who grew up with the movies and new fans. Scream needs to make some changes for Scream 7 to truly surprise audiences.

It is worth noting the performance of the film's two leads, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who shined in the Netflix series Wednesday.

The true story that inspired the saga

Few people know that the Scream saga is inspired by a real case that occurred in 1990 in the state of Florida. The killer, Danny Rolling, raped and killed five students of the University of Florida, in the span of three days. The criminal was nicknamed The Gainesville Ripper and before committing the murders he spent several years hiding in many houses without anyone noticing him, which was a fun game for him.

The students on campus panicked and paranoia caused them to begin to distrust each other and sleep in groups so as not to face the killer alone.

After committing the murders, Rolling was discovered by the police and given the death penalty by lethal injection. Surprisingly, the killer confessed to all his crimes, although he claimed that he committed them because he was possessed by the devil. Psychiatrists determined that Rolling suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder, Paraphilia and Antisocial Personality Disorder. In any case, Rolling knew what he was doing and had to be executed.

In 2022, a group of paranormal investigators traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana, to study the killer's environment. They discovered that Rolling's evil spirit is still present in the place where he grew up, bothering everyone who lives in Shreveport.
