Rey can’t handle the Newman way on ‘The Young and the Restless’

Spoilers for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS indicate that Sharon’s estranged husband will continue having a difficult time with the way the Newman’s operate in Genoa City. Detective Rey Rosales has a lot going on and is now the sole member of his family who is still in town. His former wife Mia is in Miami with his brother Arturo and the child they conceived while Rey and Mia were still married. On Friday Lola said she was departing to join the clan in Miami and work in the city where they grew up.

In addition, Rey may have lost his wife because of his obsession with Adam. Rey has accepted that Nick’s brother is innocent and that Chelsea confessed to the poisoning. He is not, however, convinced that Chelsea's mental breakdown is real. Several spoilers indicate that Rey will not be able to simply accept that Victor and Adam won this round so to speak. He will continue digging into the situation to try to come up with satisfying answers.

Rey is going to question both Chloe and Chelsea in order to fill in some missing pieces to this puzzle. Chelsea gave Rey and DA Michael Baldwin a piece of information that was not made public and only the guilty party would know. He also found it a bit convenient that Chelsea confessed at the Newman ranch and a doctor just happened to be there to give her a sedative when she went off the rails. The detective is certain that Victor gave his daughter in law a little nudge but there is nothing he can do about it.

Spoilers say that next week Rey will dig his heels in and try to rattle Chloe into confessing that she helped her BFF poison him. Kevin is supposed to show up and do all he can to defend and protect his wife. Chelsea ad Chloe both have at times been underneath Victor's thumb and have had their will bent to conform with what he wanted. Even Sharon at times has been at the mercy of the "mustache" and that's just the way it is in Genoa City. When Paul Williams was in charge of the GCPD he found many times that he could not bring them to justice.

Rey will also be dealing with the fallout of his Adam obsession as it pertains to his marriage to Sharon. She c0ontinued to tell him that Adam was innocent but Rey would not listen. The couple met on Friday to discuss the state of their marriage and spoilers say Sharon has made a decision. Adam wants to play matchmaker and get Shey back together. He also told Victor that he was done with being obsessed with Sharon and was going to put his all into his new job.

Some fans of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS are hoping that Rey and Sharon can repair their damaged marriage and move forward without interference from Adam. Other viewers believe Shaddam is destined to be together and that they will not be able to stay away from each other. On Thursday Sharon told Adam that she did not think her union with Rey could be repaired, even when Adam said he was letting her go.

On Friday when Rey asked to meet her Sharon seemed a bit annoyed and Y&R fans are wondering what her decision will be. No matter where Rey turns he runs into the dysfunction of Victor Newman and his family. Victor is willing to do anything to get his own way and thsi time he wanted Adam to stay out of jail. Chelsea is guilty but more than that she is collateral damage in the Newman patriarch's grand scheme of things.

Even if Adam no longer pursues a romantic interest in Sharon he is Faith's kidney donor and that will bond them for life. Both Nikki and Nick are looking at Victor's youngest son in a different light and the only people right now who may not give Adam a pass would be Billy and Victoria. Rey could end up losing his marriage and getting nowhere with Chloe or Chelsea. He could end up watching Adam and Sharon find their way back to each other in time.

If Adam were ever to express interest in Faith's mom again he would probably get the green light from most of the Newman family and Victor would not hesitate to help his son get what he wants, even if he has to crush Detective Rosales in the process. Will Sharon and Rey reconcile and can Adam truly walk away from the love of his life and focus on business? Is it possible for Rey to break Chelsea and Chloe and get them to tell him the truth or will their fear of the "mustache" cause them to keep their lips shut tight?

Rey Rosales is like his boss Paul Williams and only desires to uphold the law. Unfortunately, the power of Victor Newman in Genoa City got the best of the police chief often and the same will happen to the lead detective. Spoilers tease that Victoria and Billy will be going out of their way to cause trouble for Adam, although it's not clear if it will be separately or a joint effort. Should Adam be able to handle them and have a little free time he might find that he cannot keep his mind away from Sharon.

If Victor finds out he might move heaven and earth to see that his son ends up with the woman of his choice. The Newman patriarch has been running things in Genoa City for decades and bending people to his will. If he so desired he make certain that the police detective loses his job. Rey will find out that his arms are simply too short for a boxing match with the most powerful man in town.
