Petri Byrd officiates at Finn and Steffy's B&B wedding

If the officiant for Finn and Steffy's wedding on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL looks familiar it's because he has been gracing television screens for a quarter of a century. His name is Petri Byrd (aka “Byrd”) and he has faithfully served as the bailiff for Judge Judith Sheindlin for 25 years. . The syndicated courtroom drama JUDGE JUDY has just ceased production and ended its long run.

Petri Boyd revealed to TV INSIDER that he did not initially know how he got the role of the minister who performs the ceremony for Steffy and Finn. He said he later found out that Eva Basler the VP of Communications for THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL recommended him. Petri had met Basler during the Daytime Emmys one year, and he obviously made an impression to the point that she suggested him for the part. Petri also said that he tries to conduct himself in a way where he treats people properly and it looks like someone was paying attention as now he has an acting credit on a scripted television series.

Boyd appeared on Thursday, August 5 when the wedding was just getting started, and on Friday's episode he will the nuptials. Spoiler alerts have teased that Shelia Carter is Finn's biological mom and that she will crash the wedding and by the time you read this she may have done just that. On Thursday, Jack Finnegan found a woman at the front entrance of the Forrester home whose face was hidden under a large lampshade hat. Jack seemed annoyed and asked twice "Is it you" but viewers who were expecting Sheila were disappointed. Spoilers assure however that she will show up in time to disrupt the wedding reception.

It turned out to be Pam Douglas, Alley Mills) who has not been on the show since before February 2020 when her husband Orson Bean died after being hit by two separate vehicles. Viewers were glad to see the soap vet return and are hoping she might stick around. Pam was elated when she walked into the front room where the wedding was taking place and saw her sister Stephanie's portrait back on the mantle.

Those who watch THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL are on pins and needles waiting to find out of Sheila will indeed interrupt the ceremony. If she is indeed Finn's mother this will stun the entire Forester Logan clan because Sheila has done horrible things to members of both families. Spoilers tease that Steffy and her family members will want Ms. Carter out of the house.

Petri Byrd says he was pretty comfortable in the role of the officiant and shared that he had performed a wedding off screen. In October he obtained a one-day pass to marry a couple who are friends with Byrd and his wife. Byrd is the longest-running television court bailiff and began working in the court system in 1986. When Judge Judy began her show in 1996 Byrd sent her a letter saying that he was available if she ever needed a bailiff. Judy determined she had no chemistry with the actor who tested for the job so she called Petri and he accepted.

Petri Hawkins-Byrd was born Petri Adonis Byrd in Brooklyn New York on November 29, 1957. he received a degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College in 1989. On THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL Carter Walton used to officiate at all the Forrester weddings. Perhaps now that he is somewhat estranged from the family they might call on Petri Byrd again. Although his character is performing the wedding ceremony as a favor to Finn, he still might be called back from time to time.
