Mike and Sonny

General Hospital viewers were distraught when Max Gail’s character Mike Corbin died. Sonny's father grew on those who watch the ABC daytime drama and they loved the way he interacted with the Corinthos clan. Everyone knew the Alzheimer's storyline had to come to an end, but no one was ready when the time came. Viewers were thankful for the additional scenes where Sonny and other characters had daydreams about Mike and what life may have been like had he lived. This gave Gail additional time on the screen where he was not confined to his hospital bed.

Now, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Gail will reprise his role by showing up as Mike’s spirit to help Sonny during a crisis. It’s not known how many scenes the actor will have but there is the possibility it could turn into something long term. Actor Jerry Douglas showed up for years on The Young and the Restless after his character John Abbott had died. He only revealed himself to his son Jack, each time he had a crisis. No other family or friends ever saw or heard John Abbott as a spirit and after some time. he stopped appearing to his son,

It could be that General Hospital is going to do something similar with Mike Corbin. About a year ago the show had dearly departed Dr. Tony Jones to return to Port Charles and talk to his adopted son Lucas. This was only for one episode and the same could be true for Mike Corbin. it is equally possible that just like Jerry Douglas, Max Gail might show up on a number of occasions when his television son needs a helping hand. Gail has a friend named Sue who manages his Facebook page. On November 24 she posted that something exciting was coming and a return to General Hospital just might be it. just might be it.

Viewers will love seeing Gail again but may not like his appearing as a ghost. Some fans thought the actor might return as a twin brother to Mike, or a look like character but that does not appear to be the case. Sonny’s dad could turn up in the midst of the drama that has ensued since the bombing of the Floating Rib. Cyrus Renault told Sonny and Jason that the explosion that killed Dev and Dustin and left Lulu with a brain injury was all on Julian Jerome. Sonny and Jason know Renault gave Julian the order but they did not let on to the drug Lord that they were on to him,

Dev is dead and Lulu might never wake from her coma. Sonny wants revenge but is not quite sure how to go about it. He has to deal with both Julian and Cyrus while keeping his family safe at the same time. Lulu is Carly's cousin and her mother Laura is the grandmother to Sonny's nephew Spencer. Dustin was dating Lulu so this is personal for Mr. Corinthos. Mike could show up and stop his son from doing something dangerous or give him advice that Sonny will ponder over time. Marcus Taggert is another headache for the coffee importer. On Thursday, Cyrus confronted Trina about her father being alive, saying he admired Taggert for faking his death to protect his daughter.

Trina did not believe it but as they were talking, Carly was trying to stop Marcus from revealing himself to his daughter. Everything seems to be getting out of hand and Sonny will need someone to lean on. Earlier spoilers even suggested that Mr. Corinthos was going to get amnesia. Will Sonny panic when he sees Mike's spirit or welcomes him and his sage advice? It sounds like things are about to heat up on General Hospital so be sure to stay tuned.
