GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers have been overwhelmingly vocal about not liking the Mike and Nina storyline. Maurice Benard, who portrays these characters has stated on several occasions that he is enjoying this new twist and stretching as an actor. Those who watch the ABC soap want Sonny back in Port Charles with Carly but based on a recent tweet by Benard, this may not happen any time soon. Disgruntled fans can only sit back and watch this play out for as long as it takes.

A number of GENERAL HOSPITAL fans tweeted responses to Benard and they all were agreeing that Sonny needs to return to Port Charles. If what Benard is suggesting is accurate then things will really become complicated for Carly and make it difficult for any type of reunion with her spouse. If Maurice Benard is OK with being Mike for a long time then there is not much his fans can do to change it.

Cynthia Watros who portrays Nina }has not said much about the controversial pairing. The last time she went on record regarding the storyline was in May. At that time she tried to explain the situation from Nina's point of view. Now that Ms. Reeves has returned to Port Charles and spent time with her grandson Wiley perhaps she might see things differently. Nina also should be conflicted as she interacted with Sonny's family and friends. Once she returns to Nixon Falls. however, she might forget everything except her feelings for Mike and go back to her make-believe world.

One of the issues that GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers have regarding Mike and Nina is the effect their relationship will have on Carly. The long Sonny remains an amnesiac and in Nixon Falls, the more probable that his wife will get into trouble. Earlier spoilers were wrong about Carly hooking up with Jason and Jax but they might be accurate regarding her marrying a mob boss. This is not what loyal viewers want to see take place but they will have to ride this out and pay attention to what happens next.

Mike and Nina might stick around for a while.

Vincent Novak is supposed to show up soon in Port Charles and Cameron Mattheson has yet to make his GENERAL HOSPITAL debut. Many fans believe Mattheson will portray the mob boss and after Thursday's episode, there seems to be a reason that Carly might remarry. Someone apprehended one of the Corinthos shipments and Jason asked Brick to look into it. Perhaps it's Novak, whether or not he will be portrayed by Cameron Mattheson.

Novak could make Carly an offer that she cannot refuse, like marrying him to protect her family and territory. Sonny's "widow" might even actually fall in love with this man which will make everything more difficult when Sonny returns to Port Charles. There will naturally be fallout from everyone who hears the news that Nina did not reveal Mike's true identity. In the meantime, Sonny and Carly will be growing further apart as he remains in Nixon Falls and she tries to take care of the family business.

Many GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are angry with Nina and want her exposed but if what Maurice Benard is suggesting is true, Ms. Reeves will keep up the charade for a little while longer. There are also rumors which have not been substantiated regarding Laura Wright who portrays Carly. It's being suggested that she might leave the soap that has been her home for 20 years now that her boyfriend Wes Ramsey (Peter August) has been let go. This all speculation and there has not been any confirmation so stay tuned to find out what happens to Carly, Nina, and Sonny.
