Mariah’s modern family hits a snag on 'The Young and the Restless'

Things have been working out pretty well on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS with regard to the surrogate mother storyline. Mariah Copeland has been surrounded by loving caring individuals as she prepares to give birth to her first child as the host for Abby Newman Chancellor and her husband. The one thing that is not lining up is the fact that Abby’s spouse Chance In on a secret mission and has not been around, to share in the excitement. His mom Nina, however, moved into the mansion and has been there every step of the way for her daughter in law.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS has given the impression that the village is stepping up for Abby, her surrogate, and her unborn child in the absence of her spouse, Thus far everything has been a bit warm and fuzzy bvetween all parties involved. Devon who used to be Abby’s close friend and also once was Mariah’s lover is the sperm donor and his grandma Katherine Chancellor is the step grandma to Chance and Jill Atkinson is the paternal grandma. Both Ashley Abbott and Victor Newman will be grandparents to this little boy.

Spoilers say that everything is too comfy cozy and finally some real drama will enter the picture. Tessa and Abby will soon be at odds with one another and have meltdowns because of Mariah. Ms. Copeland has been a bit snarkier these days and giving her opinion where it is was neither asked for nor welcomed. No one can give a stone cold glare like the redhead when others don't fall in line to her will. Now she may have put her foot in her mouth where Abby is concerned and Tessa is going to step in.

When Summer Newman said her goodbyes Mariah tore into her without even knowing the details of what was going on. She called Summer selfish and referred to her as "Snowflake" which was the name Tessa and Mariah used when Summer first came back to Genoa City and was acting like a spoiled brat. If Mariah knew the entire story she would be ashamed of her actions. Summer looked visibly hurt and replied calmly that she and Mariah were ending the same way they began

. Ms. Copeland also did not like the fact that Stitch was back in town and spending time with Abby. She actually said some things that she should not have so perhaps Abby and Tessa's encounter may have to do with what was said about Mr. Rayburn, Mariah likes to think she knows more about whatr is best for others than they do themselves. She has always been this way and it's not just the hormones causing her to act out.

She was very vocal in regard to the dynamic between Kyle, Summer, Theo, and Lola. She was is also very protective of Sharon and initially gave Rey a hard time until she got to know him. There is no telling what causes the meltd0own between Tessa and Abby but Ms. Proter could react to overhearing Abby telling Mariah to stay out of her business. Tessa is trying to be supportive during this pregnancy but at times she is the odd man out so to speak.

She might begin to feel that Abby has somehow overstepped and decide she needs to address the issue. Whatever causes the incident some viewers believe it is long overdue because everyone has been playing nice for far too long. Abby's unconventional modern family has raised eyebrows with THE viewes from day one because of the close ties of all who are involved. Mariah and Devon used to be lovers and now she is carrying his child, Abbhy, Tessa, and Nina are living in the Chancellor mansion which was the home of Devon's grndma Katherine.

Abby is basically an outsider in regard to this child she will call her own. The baby is not growing inside her body and does not have the DNA of either herself or her husband, As the time draws near everyone is wondering if Chance will make it back to Genoa City before the baby is born. There are a number of issues in this storyline that could cause Mariah and Abby to get into a heated argument where Tessa intervenes. It could be related to Chance, Stitch, or something totally unrelated.

Mariah putting her foot in her mouth and butting in where she does not belong are nothing new, The issue is that this time around she needs to be thinking about the health of her unborn child before getting into trival arguments.
