The most mysterious flight in aircraft history

Netflix released on March 8 MH370: The plane that disappeared, the docuseries that tries to explain what happened to the Malaysia Airlines flight, in which 239 people of 14 different nationalities died in the strangest circumstances. It should be recalled that on March 8, 2014, a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft departed from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bound for Beijing, China. The flight should have lasted five hours, but it never arrived in the Chinese capital. Fifty minutes into the flight, contact with the plane was lost. Several countries around the world tried to find the missing plane, but only a few parts were found and the worst of all is that it was never known what really happened.

MH370: The Plane That Disappeared is a British docuseries directed by Louise Malkinson and produced by Raw Television. The documentary features archival footage, journalistic research and testimonials from relatives of the missing and researchers who ask questions and also pose theories.

The docuseries recounts that the plane was carrying 239 passengers. At 00:40 a.m. in the early hours of March 8, 2014, the Boeing 777 performed the usual maneuvers on the runway at Kuala Lumpur airport. The last recorded communication was at 01:40 hours, before the aircraft entered Vietnam. From that time on, the plane was never heard from again.

Trying to understand what happened

MH370: the plane that disappeared unfolds through three episodes that mix the reactions of family members and the public to the case with conspiracy theories that emerged over time, to the extent that no trace of the aircraft was ever found, overseen largely due to geopolitical tensions.

The docuseries also explores three different theories about the Boeing's disappearance in an enigmatic puzzle with almost no pieces. The film's release coincides with the denunciation of the Voice370 group, composed of relatives of the missing, which again called for the resumption of the search for the plane, suspended since 2018.

According to information provided by Malaysia Airlines, the aircraft's behavior was erratic. During the moments in which it still had communication, it did not give any kind of alert for technical or meteorological failures, everything seemed to be fine. However, Malaysia's Prime Minister, Najib Razak, declared on March 15 that the flight had taken an intentional detour and that communications had been deliberately switched off, which for many were clear indications of hijacking.

Paranormal theories

Because the appearance of the Boeing 777 of flight MH370 is completely enigmatic, several paranormal theories have emerged over the past nine years.

Authorities turned to a psychic, Ibrahim Mat Zin, to reveal what really happened to the flight. The psychic arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport claiming to be invited by one of the country's top leaders to help locate the missing plane using a spiritual method. The spiritualist had a black vision that prevented him from making any predictions.

There is also talk of energy vortex or extraterrestrial abduction. The most recurrent theory is the one related to the Bermuda Triangle and there are already important voices supporting it. No possibility is ruled out, since the more realistic theories have not been useful so far.

When talking about the triangle, it is not only said that aliens have taken the planes, but also that energetic fields "bury" the planes. Some psychics claim that the flight ended its journey successfully in a reality parallel to our own.

But what is most interesting is the subject of the phones. Several family members have called the phones of the missing passengers, and the phones kept ringing, but no one answered, according to a statement signed by the 19 families of the missing passengers.
