Cameron may have a reason to be thankful that will give him a happy holiday

On General Hospital just before he risked his life to save his stepson, Franco told Cameron to tell his mom that he would come back to them. Now according to spoiler alerts and what took place on Monday's episode International Business Times suggests that Franco is fighting to get through from the Drew persona. On Monday he told Kim that he had to stay and do the right thing. They each said I love you and Kim departed Port Charles alone. The sight of her empty apartment with nothing left but the kitchen sink was the finale of a saga that has gone on way too long. As she was leaving, her Charlie was talking with Ned's daughter Brooke Lynn. Julexis fans thought once Kim was gone that Julian and Alexis would reunite but Ms. Davis has Neil in her corner and it looks like Mr. Jerome has found himself another pretty young thing.

Liz is elated that Franco decided to stay in town and go though the risky procedure that could restore his memories. There is no guarantee of the outcome of the surgery and Dr. Andrew Maddox laid out all the possibilities. Franco could die, emerge a vegetable who cannot communicate, retain Drew's past memories, or be a combination of both himself and his childhood friend. Elizabeth and Cameron are hoping against hope that Bobby Frank Baldwin will come through this situation as the man he was before he risked his life to save Cameron. General Hospital viewers want Roger Howarth's character to be himself without any problems, because this bizarre storyline has gone on too long and needs closure.

Viewers never understood why Billy Miller did not get his own memories back prior to his leaving General Hospital. Once the real Andrew Cain returned the stolen money and Shiloh died there seemed to be no purpose for Franco believing he was Drew. If the writers care about the fans, they will allow Liz Weber's husband to return whole and without any trace of Drew. Cameron has been beside himself with guilt because he feels responsible for what happened to his stepfather. The teen is also distraught because it took him longer to see the good in Franco than his brothers Jake and Aiden. No time table has been given for when the surgery will be done, but it's possible Liz and her boys will have an extra reason to be thankful on next Thursday.

If scheduling the surgery takes a little longer, then the Weber/Baldwin family will have a very merry Christmas and a truly happy New Year. There are mixed emotions regarding Franco because of his past, but General Hospital seems to be trying to rehabilitate the artist and former serial killer. When James Franco was in the role, the art work was dark and always related to the murders he committed. Once Roger Howarth was recast as the troubled soul, things began to change. It turned out that Franco had a brain tumor which was responsible for his heinous actions. Some Genoa City residents accepted this explanation but others did not. Even after Franco risked his life to bring down Ryan Chamberlain. He assisted Jason in breaking Carly out of Ferncliff and put himself in harms way to spare Cameron, there are those who wish he would not resurface.

Frizz fans are excited that the memory mapping storyline may be coming to a close and desire to see Franco and Liz have their happily ever after. Once the surgery is complete perhaps Cameron can move along and enjoy life like a regular teen. It's not clear if he still has romantic feelings for Josslyn but a love triangle seems about to form. Trina kissed Dev who had a moment where he and Joss felt a spark between them. The four friends could go on a roller coaster ride of emotions trying to sort out who belongs with whom. Cameron will certainly need his stepfather's guidance, especially if he continues drinking.

Once Franco recovers from the medical procedure, if all goes well he will happily return to his family. Viewers will haev to wait until that time to find out what the next chapter will bring for Liz and her husband.
