Lawrence Saint-Victor's wife steps in for romantic scenes on The Bold and the Beautiful

Daytime drama continues to evolve and become more interesting due to the coronavirus. The actors are dealing with many changes such as being tested for COVID 19, practicing social distancing, and doing their own hair and makeup. The romance department has had some unusual alterations which turn out to be benefits for married couples. Soap Dirt recently revealed that actor Lawrence Saint-Victor has had to hug a mannequin on The Bold and the Beautiful when his character Carter Walton is involved in love scenes with Zoe Buckingham. The spoiler adds that when it comes to kissing, the veteran daytime star's wife Shay Flake Saint-Victor steps in.

Quite a few daytime stars are calling upon their significant others to stand in for romantic scenes now that COVID-19 restrictions are in place. There is no way at this point and time to know how long this substitution will go on, but the couples are no doubt loving it. Shay Saint-Vincent was asked whether or not during her 13 years of marriage she ever dreamed she would be paid to kiss her own husband. Her answer was absolutely not. Shay is an actress who is known for portraying a girlfriend in Cain's Mark in 2008. There are no other roles listed for her at this time, but she will be remembered for stepping in to replace a mannequin during the coronavirus.

The couple married in September 2007, and they have one child, a two year old son Christian. B&B viewers have complained for a while about Carter's lack of screen time and only being seen when the Forresters need legal work or a wedding officiant. Now Carter has been promoted to Forrester CEO, has a new apartment, and is engaged to Zoe. Shay Saint-Vincent is fortunate to be a stand-in for her spouse. Actors who do not have significant others must actually kiss a mannequin. If that isn’t bad enough, The Bold and the Beautiful is using a Hope look-alike doll in a storyline with Thomas and viewers don’t like it. It’s not clear where that plot is headed but fans hope it’s over soon.

Back to Carter, spoilers have indicated that there may be trouble in paradise. It’s possible that Zoe and Zende could give in to their feelings or Paris might make a play for Carter. If Zende and Paris hook up and then one of them cheats things will really become ugly. Spoiler alerts stated that the Avants would return this fall but so far only Julius has shown up. Zende married into the family so he really does not count. Fans thought perhaps Maya or Nicole might be back on the screen but instead, the writers gave Zoe a sister. Karla Mosley who portrays Maya announced not long ago that she was off of the show.

Mosley’s fans were truly disappointed to hear that she had been let go from The Bold and the Beautiful. Viewers don’t understand why B&B isn’t using fan favorites instead of bringing new characters on board. Some fans wanted to see Maya move on with either Carter or Zende but instead, the two men are bewitched by the Buckingham siblings. It’s not clear how long Paris will remain in LA but her sister seems to have staying power. Zoe survived the scandal of her father and her role in the baby swap. She got through the ordeal of Xander running off and leaving her as well as her disastrous nuptials with Thomas.

On Friday Zoe accepted Carter’s proposal and his ring but many viewers believe her heart is not really in it. If she has doubts and he turns to her sister or another woman Saint-Victor will still need his wife to stand in during romantic scenes. This will go on for as long as the COVID-19 restrictions are in place. Perhaps, even when the new normal is lifted and things get back to normal, the mannequins and stand-ins can continue to e utilized in special situations. Actor Jonathan James, (Nashville) was a popular General Hospital character who began on the show as a teen, portraying Lucky Spencer. He left the role when the script called for him to have premarital sex with his onscreen girlfriend Elizabeth Weber.

Lark Vorhees, who soared to fame as Lisa Turtle, on Saved by the Bell was let go from her role as Jasmine Malone on The Bold and the Beautiful because as a Jehovah's Witness she was not allowed to do provocative love scenes. Both Vorhees and Jackson later returned to their respective soaps but did not do love scenes and eventually were written out. If daytime had been using the lifesize dolls and spouses perhaps both of these actors could have remained in their roles. Whatever happens in the future, Shay Saint-Victor and other spouses are enjoying playing love scenes with their own husband or wife.
