Laura makes a quick exit as Genie Francis is off 'General Hospital' until the fall

Genie Francis is off again

Genie Francis announced recently that she was taking the summer off from GENERAL HOSPITAL in order to spend time with her family. Spoilers now reveal that the actress will be gone from the ABC soap until the fall. Her character Laura Collins is going to make a quick and dramatic exit from Port Charles but no details are known at this time. Her brother Martin called her on Friday and said they were in trouble. It is being suggested that it has to do with Cyrus.

There is no information that suggests that Jeff Kober will return to Port Charles but only that he will somehow be involved in Laura abruptly leaving town. Perhaps Cyrus has broken out of jail and is on the run but whatever it is Martin is clearly rattled. It's also possible that there may be some change or breaktrough with Lulu and Laura might have to check on her daughter. Whatever it is that takes place will keep Genie Francis off of GENERAL HOSPITAL until the fall.

Cyrus could be trouble again

Shortly after Kober left GENERAL HOSPITAL he said he was going to finish two books that he had been writing and spend time on artwork. He did not mention having any acting jobs lined up and did not say anything about returning to his role as Cyrus Renault so soon after being written out of the soap. It is being assumed that Martin's troubling news for Laura is related to his older sibling but fans will find out for certain on Monday.

Specer is trouble

GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers will now be wondering if Spencer's ultimate downfall will have to wait until his grandmother returns. She has already told him that he and Esme Prince cannot live together. This girl is trouble and she has already set Ava's car on fire. There will probably be some friction between Ms. Prince and Trina who is now trying to downplay her feelings for Spencer.

A number of viewers have been saying that they are aving trouble warming up to Nicholas Chavez as the new Spencer and the storyline is doing noting to endear him to the fans. He has been lying to everyone and has strung Trina along. He hates Ava and seems to admire Ryan. His girlfriend Esme is a psycho and while Laura is gone her grandson will no doubt get into more trouble. He i s allowing is dad to feel guilty when Nikolas was right all along about his son's actions.

Genie will be missed

GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers who love Genie Francis will miss her when she goes on vacation and be eagerly awaiting her return. She assured her fans that she is not gone for good and that she will indeed come back to the ABC soap. Last year fans were troubled because the actress had not been seen in Port Charles for some time and many thought she had been fired. It was later revealed that Francis had gone on recurring status and was no longer on contract.

Laura will have to eat crow once the truth comes out about Spencer being the stalker and an apology to Nikolas will be in order. Spoilers from Soap Opera Spy are suggesting that even though Esme is the one who burned Ava's vehicle that Ryan could be the one pulling the strings. Laura might find that she is dealing with Cyrus as she is exiting Port Charles and Spencer, Esme, and Ryan when she returns.
