The One True GeekologyPublished 4 years ago in GeeksWhere the Universal 'Dark Universe' Went Wrong
It all started with Iron Man. No, Iron Man is not Universal Studios, nor is it a monster movie. Yes, I am aware of both of those facts. Nevertheless, it started with Iron Man. Marvel did something that many did not think could be done well. A cinematic universe, a network of independent films that locked together and gave rise to a story that would span an entire decade. Other studios looked upon Marvel and Disney with envy, unable to replicate what they had done. The truth is, the formula was there, they were just too impatient to use it.

Disclaimer: I cannot summarize something and assess it without having spoilers. You have been informed. Also this is a subjective review, therefore, what I write here is not fact, it's an opinion. Furthermore, this is a very well loved and appreciated movie by most. Hence, my opinion is in the minority.
Why Harry Potter should have married Luna Lovegood?
Are you a potterhead? Well, you may be pissed if I say that Luna Lovegood was only character which to me,seemed worthy of winning over Harry Potter. My own feelings are that Harry and Luna felt right together, that they seemed to "click " in ways varied and profound. Luna x Harry pairing seem to flow much better than Ginny x Harry. His chemistry with Ginny was so forced on screen that I can't help but cringe. In contrast, whenever I saw Luna with Harry,I could feel something building up,but, unfortunately, author was in no mood of serving that build-up to us with a nice climax.

Q-ell BettonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksI don't care about the Black Widow movie anymore
I've waited for a Black Widow movie for almost 8 years. Now that it's almost here I just. Don't. Care. When Natasha Romanoff made her first appearance in Iron Man 2 I believed a Black Widow movie couldn't be too far away. It didn't happen. Obviously. Then Avengers came out and I thought "This is it. Now's the time to make it!." I thought they were going to make an origin story about Black Widow featuring Hawkeye. Nope. After 10 years there was still no solo Black Widow movie! There was seemingly no reason for this. Especially during Phase 2 of the MCU. A perfect time to delve deeper into the spy's history but NO, we got nothing.
Sabrina PetrafesaPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMy Top Ten Films of the last decade
While the year is still young, I thought I'd share my top ten films of the last decade. I've had some brilliant experiences in the cinema in this time and whereas many of these may be popular choices, I hope some will inspire readers to go and watch something they haven't seen before. Also a heads up to anyone else new to Vocal, this is the second time I'm writing this as I got to number 3 the first time after forgetting to save changes and lost it. So, yeah, ehm, don't do that. To be fair I'm probably the only one stupid enough to do that. Anyway:
Matty LongPublished 4 years ago in GeeksReview of Miami City Ballet's Firebird
Miami City Ballet is no stranger to envelope-pushing productions-- there is always something new and contemporary introduced to the eager audience. Yet, for the years of high caliber work and spicy workmanship that the company has displayed with honor, there has never been a production with such poise but such fire as the third installation.
