5 Anime that are a must see!
I have had a long lover affair with all things Japanese. My paternal grandmother was Japanese so it came natural to be interested in the life and culture. Part of that culture is Anime. Needless to say like a good little nerd I have been watching Anime for many years now. I'm not a comic con cosplayer level Anime enthusiast, but definitely just a step below. In my many years of viewing I have found five Anime series that I think are worth watching over and over. Down below they will be listed in no particular order. I will try to give you enough to get excited about the series like me without giving it all away. So without further ado here they are!
A24 Gems
A24 have a wide variety of hidden gems in their catalogue, today I'm going to list my favourite five and tell you why you need to watch them.
An Admirer's Lament
I have never been of the opinion that love can be restricted to that between two people of the opposite sex. Rather, it can embrace love of all kinds and all who consent to involve themselves with the practice. Even if, as can often be the circumstances, the love goes one way alone.
David PerlmutterPublished 4 years ago in GeeksBook Review: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I want to begin this review with a shoutout to my incredible, bookseller-extraordinaire roommate for snagging me an ARC this book. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (written by V.E. Schwab and out on Tuesday, October 6th) has been one of my most anticipated reads for what feels like ages. It is no secret to anyone who knows me that V.E. Schwab is one of my absolute favorite authors. I’ve seen this most recent work of hers generating a fair amount of excitement in the months leading up to its release, and I can now confirm that it very much lives up to the hype. Am I biased? Maybe. Am I also right? Absolutely. And I’m here to tell you why.
Melissa ClosePublished 4 years ago in Geeks‘The Swerve’ Is an Epic Downer of a Movie
With all that 2020 has thrown our way, I don’t blame anyone for seeking soothing, uplifting entertainment. We need every excuse to inject a little happiness in our lives! With that in mind, Dean Kapsalis’ The Swerve may not necessarily be for you — it’s one of the most actively depressing and harrowing movies I have seen all year.

Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in GeeksThe Boat (2018)
Abandoned Adrift Not Alone Obviously, there are more movies about machines suddenly having a will of their own and starting to make life miserable for their fellow humans. For example, in days long gone, there was Herbie, the love bug, who regularly took over the steering wheel without asking. Admittedly, this movie won’t scare you since it was a hilarious family movie. Of a different caliber is the movie “The Car” with a demonic, black Lincoln Continental Mark III car that repeatedly left a rubber trail on the face of an innocent passer-by. Even better and more famous, the glitzy Plymouth Fury ’58 in “Christine”. A car that could restore its wrinkled bodywork to its original condition without hesitating. And it killed those who bothered its owner. You could say that the “Titanic” made quite a few victims as well. But that wasn’t because this mastodon of a boat suddenly started sailing its own course, but rather because an iceberg popped up suddenly. The boat in this movie, on the other hand, is a different story. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
Favourite Kalos Pokémon
The Kalos region is based on real life France with its mallow fields, grand castles and Paris-inspired architecture. The sixth generation of Pokémon brought some really cool features with the most prominent ones being the mega-evolutions and the new fairy type. Training and breeding mechanics were easier than ever, battling and online became easier and fun. Whilst Kalos has the smallest new roster of Pokémon, you don’t really notice it as the older Pokémon also do a lot in the games as well with the new forms and the fact you get a Kanto starter of your choice.
Chloe GilholyPublished 4 years ago in GeeksWatching The Notebook at 35
I watched the Notebook for the first time in a while, and it’s funny how time changes ones perception of these things. The Notebook would have been released when I was 18. Of course, I had seen A Walk to Remember and read the book. I periodically watch The Notebook, but each time I become less enthralled. I think the combination of not being pummeled by the emotional roller coaster, maturity, and being a in a long term relationship makes it less and less appealing.

Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksCostumes and Candies! That’s What Halloween Is All About
The celebration of the witches and wolves is here. It is all about costumes and having different candies to satisfy your sweet tooth. Halloween is the night when everyone is looking forward to dressing up and go out for a trick or treat. Rushing back and forth on the streets, kids try to get treats from every house on the block. Deciding what to wear is also very fascinating. The quality of creativity in people is visible from their outfits. Fun Halloween ideas and spooky looking treats for guests is one of the shenanigans of the day. Baking customized cake for the family can be fascinating or creating your flavored candies.
Aaron CollingwoogPublished 4 years ago in GeeksDo Not Watch This Film
Two nights ago I began watching, very late in the sleep cycle of most natural creatures on Earth, the splashgasm called Melancholia. The opening cut convinced me I was already feeling slightly too emo for such a roller coaster of ideas, so I put it off until very early this morning. October 1, 2020.
