Jack thomsonPublished 3 years ago in GeeksBinge worthy series to watch during isolation
Its Sunday!! The best thing I think about Sunday in isolation is that it is now completely acceptable to stay in my pjs and binge on Netflix all day. So for today I thought my article should be about what TV series I recommend and what I am super excited to see next.
Chatty ForsterPublished 3 years ago in GeeksHollywood Gets Hoop Dreams
I don't know about you, but if someone asked me to name a movie about basketball, my mind would immediately go to Space Jam. Space Jam, the film where Michael Jordan has to team up with the Looney Tunes to help them win a basketball match against a team of space aliens that have stolen the mojos of notable NBA players. It may sound ridiculous, but it does make sense that I choose the film that features the most iconic basketball player of all time making his big-screen debut in the most successful basketball film of all time. Grossing $230 million in 1996 to become the 12th-highest-grossing film of the year, with an accompanying soundtrack album that went 6x platinum, and an official website that you can still visit today, Space Jam was a pop culture phenomenon.

Steven LeitmanPublished 3 years ago in GeeksThings I'm Passionate About Part 6
Part 6 of this series! A neat one today! Enjoy! 1. Antiques I love antiques, my parents for example, ZING! Sorry Mom and Dad, love you. Yes, they read my work. Anyway digression; I love antiques, old relics from the past that each hold their own stories of history, whether it’s personal history or from your family, to places you might have history with or just love, to our history as a species or civilization as a whole. Not all old things are antiques, but all antiques are from the past. After reading part 5, it should come as no surprise that I love antique weapons chiefly of all; everything from a 500-year-old short-sword my Dad found at auction to old pistols and rifles from the Alamo I have my eye on. They all fascinate me and add value to my collection and net worth. As I write about antiques in the future, weapons or not, I’ll be talking about individual pieces, collections, famous antique dealers, and adrenalizing auctions. Coins are another passion of mine in this regard; a timeline of the evolution of currencies over the millennia utterly fascinates me.
Brent SalmonPublished 3 years ago in GeeksDr Saruman Wonka
For those that only saw the movies I will give a quick epilogue of what happened after The Return of the King. So we all saw the Ents attack and utterly destroy Saruman’s fortress of Isengard. What we dont see is the Ents keeping Saruman as a prisoner in his own home. More than fair considering that Saruman killed many Ents in his quest for power. As well Saruman is banished from from his order and his staff broken.

Cheryl E PrestonPublished 3 years ago in GeeksThe Requirement for World Literature
There is a massive requirement for world literature from a very early age in children. When a child first learns to read, the child requires a large and diverse range of stories and each culture and country offers this. As the child grows into a teenager, they will become introduced to different literary sub-cultures like the Russian Golden Age, the Age of Islamic Mysticism, the British Modernist Period, the Italian Renaissance and many, many more. Since the GCSE studies of Great Britain made the syllabus just British about five years’ ago, I have been concerned with teenagers not getting the same experience I did of literature from around the world written in different times and places from people who lived in the time of Shakespeare and Elizabeth I to people who were fighting the crusades, from people who were living through the Spanish Civil War to people who fought in the Mexican Revolution, the Bolsheviks Overthrow of Russia, the American Civil War and even down to the South African Abolition of the Apartheid. Unfortunately, as it comes further and further down the line, the teenagers of Great Britain are being deprived of literature from overseas to a degree that is actually disturbing, in favour of just re-reading pretty much the same stories just written by different authors over and over again. As adults, I can also see a drop in British people, especially Caucasian British, who have not really explored the realm of world literature and more specifically of Eastern World literature. So, I wanted to just see what the big deal is with reading world literature and why I am so concerned about my own generation and the next.
