When TV Teaches
If you recently loved The Good Place and felt the warm feeling of that ending, you may love Six Feet Under. If you feel like I, that Six Feet Under was the most complete and poignant ending, please explore The Good Place for some similar conclusions.
Jade WebberPublished 3 years ago in GeeksDream Movie Recommendation
If This Then That If Inception is a dream within a dream movie then Contraband is an action within an action movie. “Hey! Those two movies aren’t anything alike!”

Six hundred and thirty-nine episodes in counting, two hundred countries, five main characters, and three remarkable people started it all. The Simpson's, a sketch about a family and their day-to-day life in Springfield, that turned into a phenomenal sensation. Listen, don't click the back button; hear it out. You have to start at the beginning, no, not the beginning of the season you saw on television after you finished watching Cops. Start at season one; episode one, take a journey along with millions of people. I know what you're thinking. I used to have similar thoughts, "It's too many episodes; I don't have the time. People only mention it because it is popular." Yes, I agree, but for valid reasons, though. This show has impacted the world by its different introductions, memorable catchphrases, and remarkable writing.

I am reluctant to admit that I was not an early adopter of Schitt's Creek. Based on the promos I saw, I didn't think I would like it. Even though I had family urging me to watch it, I didn't. Not until it was starting to blow up in 2020. The ads didn't do it justice because I. Love. It. But
Erica BallPublished 3 years ago in Geeks5 TV shows led by compelling female characters to watch after WandaVision
There was no way I could have possibly predicted just how wildly successful WandaVision would be. The first official live-action Marvel series to debut on the Disney+ streaming platform which depicts the relationship between a Sokovian woman with mutant abilities and her deceased synthezoid partner will certainly be a fun watch. I've enjoyed the Marvel Cinematic Universe and while I'm not a massive Marvel stan, I decided to give the show a chance... Although I doubted it would grab my attention as much as something like The Mandalorian did where I found myself counting down the hours until Friday.

The remarkable success of Zack Snyder's vision of the Justice League movie has yielded more DC fruit. Snyder helmed several films within the DC Extended Universe to limited success. When personal tragedy struck while filming Justice League, Snyder understandably left the project. Joss Whedon took over and finished the movie. The result was less than desirable for many fans. Many clamored for Snyder to redo the film. HBO Max released the Snyder cut in mid-March. Even with its 4-hour runtime, fans loved it.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in GeeksIf The Office, Then 30 Rock
A year ago, my girlfriend had never heard of 30 Rock. Today, she’s watching the series through for the third time and it has officially dethroned The Office as her favorite TV comedy. 30 Rock is quirky, absurd and chock-full of one-liners, like The Office, but it’s much snappier and a little more cerebral. Each scene is riddled with punchlines and character insights that will have you rolling on the floor, gasping for breath as tears of laughter stream down your cheeks. I love The Office, but 30 Rock is—straight up and down—simply a better show. That may sound like sacrilege to some of you, but the writing and acting in 30 Rock are both unparalleled as far as comedy television is concerned. If you don’t want to take my word at face value, I completely understand. Perhaps the 16 Emmy wins and 103 nominations that 30 Rock received—including three consecutive wins for ‘outstanding comedy series’—will convince you that you’re in good hands.

Is There a Doctor in the House? “I don’t know what’s wrong with her, Doctor. She just started coughing and passed out. I called 911 and we came here to the ER. You gotta help her Doctor. She’s only 9 years old, and…..”
Cleve TaylorPublished 3 years ago in GeeksRebooting the Power Rangers!
Movies plus a tv series for the modern series, a series for older fans, animations for younger fans. This one is going to be entertaining for everyone, it’s Morphin Time! Power Rangers started in the early 1990’ in America, as a reasonable way to produce an original entertainment series in America that had bigger potential than they realized.
Sergio VanNessPublished 3 years ago in GeeksWas Game of Thrones a little too dark and gruesome?
Was Game of Thrones a little too gory and had a little too much sex for you? The series took the world by storm when it debuted on HBO in May 2011. The books by George R. R. Martin had already been in the public eye since 1996. Prior to the show airing, the series, A Song of Ice and Fire, had 4 books. This epic fantasy set in a medieval-esque world called Westeros contained a large number of characters, and even with reducing them for the TV version, it could still become overwhelming. The story, for the most part, revolves around the Stark family group, even as they are split up and scattered around the world.
Rachel Pieper DeckerPublished 3 years ago in Geeks1. Note to self: Google Mank
Recently, I would eyeball the local billboard just above the Shell station featuring an ad for "Mank" while I was idling at the red light on the corner of Beverly and Fairfax. Seeing Gary Oldman’s name immediately registered two thumbs up in my subconscious mind for his wide range of acting roles from Sid Vicious to Ludwig Von Beethoven, Winston Churchill with many award-winning performances in between and now, his most recent Oscar nod, "Mank."
Cindy MattaPublished 3 years ago in GeeksA Guilty (Film) Pleasure
Ah, the road trip comedy—there is a place for them in the film world, even if you think your tastes are too refined. Then one day in the heart of summer of ‘09 you find yourself howling at The Hangover, and a decade later slapping on a decal of a baby in a beanie on the back of your electric vehicle.
