Kirsten Storms survives yet another mishap

Kirsten Storms is a trooper

Actress Kirsten Storms recently shared on Instagram a picture of her hand in a bandage. She informed General Hospital fans that her latest mishap will be apparent in coming episodes. Unlike previous incidents, this one will not keep the actress off-screen. Storms is a true professional who has bounced back from numerous health-related issues in recent years.

She was off-screen when she was infected with the coronavirus earlier this year and had cysts on her brain, that required surgery in 2020. She dealt with weight loss so severe in 2016 fans thought she was on drugs or had cancer. It was actually due to stress and caused her skin to break out. She also endured painful endometriosis in 2011.

Each time she was away from General Hospital Kirsten kept her fans in the loop and her followers appreciate her for it. Storms got out in front of the brain surgery by telling her truth before false rumors began flying. She is now doing the same with details of what happened to her hand. Storms says she injured her fingers while taking out the trash and when fans see Maxie with the brace they will know why the actress is wearing it. Kirsten did not say if the issue will be a part of the script or if she will simply wear the brace without it being mentioned.

Kirsten Storms endured a freak accident

Storms injured her hand in what could be considered a freak accident and her tale should serve as a cautionary warning for others. The actress says she was swinging a heavy trash bag while attempting to toss it inside of a dumpster. The bag gained quite a bit of momentum and began spinning which caused the drawstring to tie around her fingers.

This sounds pretty painful but Storms is keeping a good attitude about it by saying: “Hey, I didn’t say this was my brightest moment. If you’re wondering, yes, the trash bag will try to take your fingers into the dumpster as well.”

This must have been a really large bag and some viewers will be trying to picture the actress tossing it. The drawstrings tightened and the bag attempted to pull her along. It probably happened so fast she did not know what was happening but thankfully the damage was not worse.

Kirsten Storms mental health battle

During an episode of Maurice Bernard’s Vlog State of Mind. Storms shared that she also has been dealing with mental health issues and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She said the diagnosis clicked with her because she knew her issues were in her brain.

The actress also admitted that well-meaning people gave her suggestions including yoga which she appreciates but she knew her issues were neurological. She is now on medication that she says works wonders but it took a while to get it right.

Currently on General Hospital Storms character Maxie Jones is finally relaxing s bit after a two year ordeal with Peter August ( Wes Ramsey). Maxie has been reunited with her daughter Louise Jones (London Selzer) and her mother Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagoner) has returned to Port Charles. Deception stock just went public and her friendship with Sustin Gatlin Holt ( Roger Howarth) seems to be getting off the ground.
